Mine kept sending an error message... wouldn't
connect for almost all of yesterday . Anybody else?

So glad it's back this morning. I hate, absolutely
hate, having to sign up with a new news server. I
always do something wrong and if I google for help
nobody cares because Usenetters are a dying breed.

Same thing with my landline phone... they've got
one craggy old dude left that still makes house
calls and knows which wire does what.

v - yes, a dinosaur, dragging my feet into the
20th, no wait, 21st century

To err is human. To really foul things up requires a computer and the BOFH.

I think aioe is back on now. It amazes me that people
don't think to check the web site server status page.

Victoria, sign up to Eternal-September, it's a piece of cake.
If you have trouble setting up your 'reader, we'll help.

P.S. Some people consider aioe to be a troll-haven and
block it out of hand. I once did and had to whitelist the
worthwhile aioe posters. I let it all through now though,
apart from a handful of plonkees.

That was also down, suggesting the wibbly bit lives on the same server as the
newsy bit.

Indeeed. If the web site is down, that's a pretty good indication
