Something has just occurred to me. Windows. Why do we have them? They give
us cold spots in our buildings, let lots of light in whether you like it or
not, and generally irritate the eyes by forcing the same dull view on you
every day. (Well mine doesn't, because I've covered it in bubble wrap, but
you get the idea). Many years ago there was a tax on the number of windows,
so many got bricked up. This was surely a sensible policy, which should be
returned to immediately. So I am now officially appealing to people to help
launch a new campaign, "Brick up a window this Christmas". Any takers?

You haven't bricked up all of your windows yet??? Hey, hold on a sec...
neither did I.

But then you can't see when the mailman goes by (and get cards from fellow
alt.1ders - *hint*)

Later!

No. Windows are glorious devices that allow you to be outside while inside.
I look out my windows and see trees and seasons and let me tell you it's
great. The bigger the better. Better than a mirror any day. Mind you when I
look in mirrors it's not too bad... Oh, have you had a spiritualist in
about the cold spots? It probably won't solve anything but it's fun to watch.
If that doesn't work go for double glazing. And fish tanks - portable
windows. How much would you enjoy a brick fisk tank? Glass is a wonderfull
concept. Brick brick brick. Yuck. Next thing you'll be suggesting that
concrete is much nicer than grass and you don't get muddy bits.

Hmm, perhaps that is the problem. Trees. What are they? We don't seem to have
any round here. Are they worth having windows for? The view from my bedroom
window was just some rooftops, very boring. Well until I bubble-wrapped the
window anyway. Um, cold spots? This is nothing to do with spiritualusm and
things... why would anything haunt our flat? *sigh* Its pretty dull living
above a shop, and at the back too. I never sssaid anything about fish tanks,
fish tanks are great! Sometimes you can even put fish in them, which can be
rather fun. Oh yeah, and concrete is bloody awful, I'm surrounded by it, yuk.
Brick brick brick. Double glazing can't do, the place is rented, *sigh*.
Grass is nice in the summer, but the muddy bits I'm not so keen on, not at
this time of year. Mind you it'd help if I glued my shoes back together.

Anyway bricks are very nice in moderation, but a bit of light doesn't go
amiss, so I'm altering my campaign to "Bubble-wrap your window this
Christmas". Now this has _got_ to be a winner, surely?

And to conclude, I quote the great Victor Lewis-Smith when I say:
"Bibbly-bome!"
