Greetings,

I'm curious if anyone has a setup with their Alt-F firmware where guest users have write access but not delete with Samba shares? I'd like for all to create / edit files, but not delete (only root should be able to delete, or even a special user). I've seen some general guides (mostly referencing to sticky bits), but I'd like to check with other DNS-323 users before poking around with those.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions,

Jeremy

EDIT: correction on subject line.

Would you consider "edit to zero length" as a delete;-) ?

If one of the zillion available options in samba don't  explicitly do it, you have to rely on the fs characteristics for that. But Alt-F fs don't have "acl" enabled (if at all compiled-in, not sure)

Haha, good one. That I would still call an edit :) The point is to prevent accidental deletion. I'll get to looking at the many Samba options and see what I can come up with when I get around to it (may be awhile). Once I get something I'll post it here in case anyone else is curious.
