Hello Joao,

I am using a desktop pc and a laptop. On both machines Thunderbird is
used as an email client. So I have a problem syncronizing the content
on both machines. Therefore I have the idea to install an emailserver
on the DNS-323 and use it to deliver the emails on my computers. Do
you know if Alt-f or the funplug packages habe such a package which I
could use for it?

Thank you very much and regards

Tom

To build up a mail server you need an SMTP server and a POP/IMAP server.
Actually theri only the smtp server available, but no POP/IMAP server, so you cannot setup an "incoming mail server" on Alt-F.
I think that RAM on the DNS-323 is too little to run such a daemon ...

We all have that problem.
The solution is to have/use an imap server, and leave the messages
there, ready to be read from anywhere in the world.

Our little box could be the imap server, but we would also need a mail-
fetcher, go retrieve mail from the outer world (unless you DNS
register your box)

As I use the google free imap server, that also fetches mail from
other servers, I'm not considering to add an imap server as an Alt-F
package.
