Hi Joao,

Hi.

Replying by e-mail, no idea why this post didn't showup in the forum, replying to the forum.

Cannot access DNS-323 via Web, SSH, FTP  only SMB work after upgrading to RC3.

I've tried solution here not work https://code.google.com/p/alt-f/issues/detail?id=10 - Not work

There are several steps involved, "Not work" is too short to cover them all...

the same.

Here is the log file in USB

This was a good idea. By default RC3 creates a log file at the root of all mounted filesystems, named "alt-f.log".

Everybody reading this: always include such a log. If necessary attach a USB pen to the box just to get the log file.

Now, the log says that 'inetd', the "mother" of most services, is stopped. As such, httpd, ftp, ssh, telnet, rsync, etc can't work.
There can be two reasons for this:

-the service is not enabled to start at boot
-its configuration file is damaged.

To be able to login the box, press the back button for more than 10 seconds but less than 20 seconds.
You can then telnet it at port 26 and see the permissions of /etc/init.d/S41inetd and the content of /etc/inetd.conf.
Currently your box IP is 192.168.1.2

Please post the output of the following commands:

ls -l /etc/init.d/S41inetd
cat /etc/inetd.conf

-If the 'S41inetd' file permissions are not '-rwxr-xr-x', execute the command

rcinetd enable # mark inetd to start at boot
loadsave_settings -sf # save settings

-then, execute the command

rcinetd start # start the inetd super-server

Any errors?
Yes? Which ones? I have to read the contents of inetd.conf
No? You should now be able to use the webUI
.

Could you please help?

Regards,
Pornchai

Guys thank you for resolving this issue. I found your conversation, and this solved my problem as well. People had been working here, and they accidently cut the power, and ever since my box was only serving the network shares. No webadmin, no telnet, nothing else but the samba shares. I took a couple of tries, but now everything is working very well, and it keeps working after rebooting. Thank you so much, i really do appreciate it.
