Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew how long a force fix on a 4 TB HDD takes? Mine has been running for at least 30 hours?

Best Regards,
PC

to copy an entire 4tb on 1000mps jumbo frame it takes 72hours , the number rise drastically on 100 mb networks to something like 5 days

i would suggest you fix the drive in a computer or another device butthats me , ill take eons if you consider the above number are for a stable box and unproblematic transfer.

make sure the drive is properly seated and dont move the box if necessary during process

cheers

this is why i keep a putty terminal on the box , you can maybe not see the remaining time , but you could get more info out of it,
like is it still on , frozen etc , more than 3 blinking lights .

i wol even wait it out 5 days if necessary

althou i know an fsck on boot dont have nic access yet till the process , i might be confusing fix with force fix , so no nic...  just wait and pray,   i would really opt to fix the drive in another computer than the smaller limited and less after dns hardware

At this point, it might be best to break the faulty drive out from the RAID, then format the faulty drive, then re-add it to the RAID to rebuild.
