Hi!

Some day ago I put the Alt-F firmware to my box. Works great, fast enough, but after some days I can't connect from Windows to the nas as a network drive.
SMB runs on the box (restarted the service, rebooted the whole NAS, nothing), but the WebUI runs well from a browser!
I receive answer when I ping the NAS, so the IP address is ok, but when I try to connect to it with \\nasname or \\ipaddress, the Windows says no host with name or ip address!

Why?  What's wrong?

I noticed that in Samba Setup it looses my 2 other shares, it contains just the default folders! See 3.jpg image!

Thank you!
Laszlo

Looks like windows cache effects. It also happens to me once for a while. Most of the time rebooting windows solves it.
What windows version are you using? Why do you have SMB1 enabled and SMB2 disabled? The reverse is recommended. Recent versions of windows need the 'wsdd2' Alt-F package running to allow windows to browse and discover neighbors.

Have you edited the samba conf file? The Samba Setup webUI might be picky... and in some circumstances discard shares. Try adding then again and check that after Submitting they are still there -- don't forget to "save settings" afterwards!

Thank you!
