Making new thread so this doesn't get lost in my ramble.

After having backed up all my data ( took two days all told ),

I am now trying to completely reformat everything, so that I can get a clean run at issues otherwise seen in https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/alt-f/i4leQtqx_vo

However, when I try and use the Disk Wizard to establish a raid 1, I get...

Stopping all services and disks... failed:eject error, st=0

When trying to eject the disks through Disk Utilities, on the right disk I get...

Eject fail, some programs are using the right device"...

I cannot seem to release this disk for eject and new raid pass, even power cycling the NAS does not fix :-(

Unfortunately trying to start a full format also tries to stop all services so the system log is not available...

Here is the content of my system configuration

To get pas this, I re-installad the DLINK firmware and reformatted the raid.

returning to the ALT-F and the problem with stopping the drive went away.

I then hit this problem as referenced at

The same steps in the thread allowed me to resolve.

I now have the system freshly formatted raid 1 and will see if I can get the user services up reliably...

I presently believe the majority of my problems were down to legacy footprints of fun plug and squeeze from before I moved to alt-f. This may of course be completely wrong.

At least I seem to be able to reliably reboot now, and nzget is coming up on boot.
