Hello, has anyone been able to configure AirPrint service via CUPS on the Alt-F4 and willing to share instructions?  There seems to be some confusion out there on the internet.  I am trying to host my networked printer via the DNS323 instead of keeping one of my PC's running.

Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions.

Sometimes it helps to step away, anyway just sharing here what I did in case anyone else wants to implement AirPrint from their Alt-F4 NAS -

Forget trying to build the airprint-generate.py on your Alt-F4, I tried this by trying to install the necessary file sets (namely pycups), this turned out to be impossible.  I even tried via install/executing Debian with no luck due to other dependencies to just compile.

Anyway, having a break from this for a day allowed me to plan another method.  Since I had a working Ubuntu VM on my laptop, I did all of the AirPrint steps there (didn't have to install much though as most file sets were already there), configured my printer as I did on Alt-F4 CUPS on the Ubuntu side CUPS (1.6.x), ran the airprint-generate.py and ftp'd the generated avahi service file over to Alt-F4.  Once I cycled netatalk/avahi on Alt-F4, my iOS device discovered it and it worked!!!

old thread I know...

I finally got this to work. The instructions on other pages do not include the fact that your cupsd.conf may need a line added "Allow From 192.168.1.0/24" or similar for your network.

One quirky thing I found. I do not see any of the jobs I've sent from the iPad/iPhone listed under jobs (on the CUPS admin page). The only jobs I see listed are the various test pages I sent when getting CUPS to work before tackling the Avahi / Airprint portion of this.

It works so I can't complain but I'd love to know why the jobs don't show up.
