I get a DNS-323 that I do not know of the condition.  I have tried to find a AC adaptor to test it out.  But most of the ones selling at Amazon etc. are in the $18+ range with shipping included.  I was looking for something that is lower.

Anyone know of any other cheaper sources?  Is this a special one?  Or other laptops or other devices also use the same adaptor?

IIRC, the adapter is a standard 5V + 12V adapter. However, even if you look for a generic one, I doubt you will find anything cheaper than 18$ shipping included. If you have one adapter with the same plug laying around, simply ensure the current rating is at least what is written on the DNS-323.

Yes, this is what I know.  I tried an AC adaptor from an external HD enclosure.  It has the same pin layout.  After I plugged into D-Llink, the fan spins a little.  Then nothing happens.  So I figure the unit is still alive.  This AC adaptor is 34W.  I figure this one does not provide enough power?

I recently purchased a new AC adaptor for a Lenovo laptop.  It costs $5 with free Amazon shipping.  Not sure if I'll spend like $18-$20 just to try it out.

No, it isn't, unless it is for a rev-C box.

I have a 323-rev-A and a rev-B box and both have a 3 pin circular power connector, GND, +5V and +12V.
I don't have a rev-C box.

Hello

The power supply you have pictured does not have a 5 volt output listed on it's label.

I had a blown power supply for my 323 some time ago.   I described and posted how a new power supply was purchased and configured to keep the 323 alive.  It's posted here at the forum.

The power supply that you have pictured does not have the needed amperage at 12 volts to power your 323. It also does not have a 5 volt output listed.

You will need a Volt Meter to confirm voltages that the power supply has.

You can purchase old power supplies at thrift (second hand) stores for much less than new.  You may need to revisit a few times to find what you're looking for.

The two supplies, a 5 volt and a 12 volt supply, with the needed amperage for each, can be used.  The negatives will have to be joined together and the voltages connected to the needed pins to attach to the 323.

After the box comes alive you will either have total control or you will have to return to the forum here for more info.

Hoping you have success!! Enjoy!!
