I’m running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, latest updates on a Laptop and a Desktop.

I installed ALT-F on my DNS-320L A3.

Version: Alt-F 1.0 with kernel 4.4.86, and is flashed with "Alt-F-1.0, initrd" and kernel "Alt-F-1.0, kernel 4.4.86".

A User was created

I am able to ping the NAS box from both Laptop & Desktop using IP and Hostname

In Services > User, entware is only service running

In Services > Network I have the following running:

·         SMB (SMB1 & SMB2 are enabled; Workgroup matches Window Workgroup name)

·         WSDD2 (after reading the “Windows 10 Machines can't find DNS-321” forum thread about getting the DNS-320L to show up in Windows network)

·         NTP

·         INETD

I have updated all of the ALT-F packages following the installation

I have saved settings along the way.

If I go into Services > Network > SMB > Configure > Folders to export to other hosts and click on Browse for /mnt/md1/Users I get a Folders Browse window pop up.

There Folder: /mnt/md1/Users is displayed.  If I click on md1, I can see the folders that were originally on the DNS-320L as well as other folders created by ALT-F

After a while, the DNS-320L shows up on the Windows Network. And it shows 3 “folders”

·         Public (Read Only)

·         Public (Read Write)

·         User which then shows

o   Admin                   empty

o   DNS-320L             message – Windows cannot access

o   MyName             message – Windows cannot access

The original folders are not being shown.

What do I need to change to see the original NAS folders?

Thanks

Each line in  Services > Network > SMB > Configure assigns a share with a folder and a name. You only have to fill a new line, browse for the folder you want to export as a share and submit (and save settings when done).
If you want to delete a share, select the corresponding line and delete/clear the folder name -- with incomplete info is supplied (the share, not the folder, will stop existing).
The existing shares Public RO, Public RW, Users are the default ones and can be deleted. The User share should not be deleted, as created users home folders will be used by default when a user uses its login name/password for accessing the box. The metaphor used is for a typical family: each user has a home folder his own private usage, and Public (local) folders for everybody, RW as a scratch pad area and RO as a area that everybody can read but not erase, like family photos.
Use the blue (?) icon near the page title to obtain online help.

Thanks.  That's the piece I wasn't clear on.
