Hey folks, i've had a 6TB sitting in the box for 2 years now running beautifully, ... until last week I added a new drive.

It now hangs after a while of file copying to the new drive.  Unable to get into the web UI at this point so would reboot/power off.  Thought it might be the drive so I swapped with a 3TB.  Same problem after a few minutes load.

I was unclear if I am at the most recent version or not?

thanks in advance!
Andy

Firmware Updater By following this procedure you can brick your box.
However, it was used to successfully flash D-Link and Alt-F firmware on a DNS-323 Rev-A1/B1, a DNS-325 rev-A1, a DNS-320L rev-A1 and on a DNS-327L rev-A1 boxes. Other compatible boards are said to work.

An option is offered latter to cancel the procedure, so you can safely proceed for now.

The box is currently running Alt-F 1.0.1 with kernel 4.4.86, and is flashed with "Alt-F-1.0.1, initrd" and kernel "Alt-F-1.0.1, kernel 4.4.86".

Yes, you have the most recent fw for the DNR-322L, Alt-F-1.0.1 (a bug fix made just for that box model, others boxes are at version 1.0.0)

From the status page, your system and disks are very hot. Make sure that the fan is rotating and that you have enough clearance all around the box, including the bottom (no carpet), to easy hot removal. Or do you live in a hot country? Or does the box is in a hot closet?
Under Services->System, Service sysctrl, Configure, you can tune several settings for your environment, read the online help. By default, for security, the box powers down at 54ºC, and you can receive early warnings if you setup e-mail.

I would look at these temperature issues first.
After ruling or fixing that down, I would check the power supply, stress testing each disk separately.

Hi João - the simple solution is generally best!   thank you, it was getting toasty in there.

The pathetic 2" factory fan probably died ages ago (despite reporting 3000RPM) so I cut a big hole and added an old PC fan.

But it was still warm in there thanks to all that black shiny D-Link plastic so I removed that....behold a photo of my new, improved DNR-322L!

cheers
Andy
