USB stick loading sometimes in sdb, sometimes in sdc

Is there anyway to tell ALT-F to always mount my usb as sdc ? This is causing problems with the mounts

No, its device name depends on the relative "discovery" time of devices. If a disk takes a bit more time to spin up the sda/b/c order will be altered, first discovered, first named  
This is causing problems with the mounts

give the USB stick filesystem a label (e.g. Work) and it will be always be mounted under that name (e.g. /mnt/Work).
Disk->Filesystem, in the USB filesystem line, type a Label name, then FS Operations, Set Label.
