After downgrade from rc5 to rc4.1 and some changed configurations, I can't unlock a partition. I installed a 4tb disk and created 4 partitions after the wizard action: swap/2tb (sda2) /2tb (sd3) /500mb (sda4) for packages

If (all services stopped except inetd) I try:
-Disk Wizard: Stopping all services and disks... failed:eject error, st=0
-Eject disk: Eject fail, some programs are using the left device
-Format sd4 partition: Couldn't unmount /dev/sda4 for formatting it, stop services first
-Empty partition sd4: Stopping disk sda... failed. Trying to stop all services and disks... failed
-Check or ForceFix sd4: Couldn't unmount /dev/sda4 for checking it, stop services first

Nothing changes if I reset settings or reflash. I don't have problems with sda2 or sda3.
While I'm writing this thread, trying to solve this problem, I connected using ftp and delete all files from folder "alt-f" present in sda4. I did a software reset, but only after I turned off, the NAS returned to work and now it is possible erase the disk without problems.

What is the correct method to solve this? Why If I stop all services I can't unmounts (check/forcefix) a partition ?

thanks

This is a know issue related with 'aufs' and the fact that you have installed Alt-F packages in sda4 (good move).
The best option is to try to stop aufs *right* after a reboot, 'rcall stop', 'aufs.sh -u'. If it still fails, boot disable all services, save settings reboot and repeat.

rc5 has the possibility of not using aufs on boot, Packages->Alt-F, on the "Packages Installed On" section disable the "Boot Enable" checkbox, Submit and reboot.

And have you read the README.txt file right there? At least use 'aufs.sh -n' before touching any file under the Alt-F folder (case!)

aufs is a union filesystem, the system/kernel might use it even if it doesn't look so, and while there are files open there it can't be unmounted.
To avoid mixing Alt-F packages (under aufs control) with your data I recommend installing Alt-F packages on the small sdx4 partitions that the D-Link fw left behind.
At boot time, as filesystems are checked before being used, they are checked before aufs starts. Again, rc5 has a "RebootAndCheck" to force fsck on boot, even if not needed.
