What would be the best way to do a clean install of Alt-f.

This would allow me to remove the entire previous install.

Removal of all 3rd Party Apps from Entware etc

Then reinstall Alt-f from scratch?

I'm asking as somewhere along the line I have wound up with packages that can't be removed and services that will no longer start.

Part of this may have occured due to a corrupt disk. I don't have one I can replace so I have to change the entire raid configuration so I'm not at all concerned about data loss.

I would just like to start everything all over but with out the risk of bricking the device.

Thanks

John

System->Utilities, Services, Stop all
Packages->Alt-F, Delete. This might fail. Uncheck "Boot Enable", Submit, Then System->Utilities, Reboot.
After the reboot, Packages->Alt-F, Delete should work now.
System, Settings, ClearSettings.
Reboot and the 1st login wizard will start from the beginning. Your disk layout, filesystems and data is preserved.

Certain Alt-F packages can't be deleted, they are shipped with the base firmware and are non erasable. Their Remove button is grayed out and disabled.

Try the ffp link in a few days, it might come back. Googling for 'fun-plug' will reveal ffp mirrors https://nas-tweaks.net/371/hdd-installation-of-the-fun_plug-0-7-on-nas-devices/#Download

The "only" possibility of bricking is when/during the flash procedure, that you (and most people) don't need to solve configuration issues.
Re-flashing will not make disappear flash-saved settings (unless your say so) or disk-installed packages, and they will be recognized and used after the reflash.

Thanks

Thank you kindly! Once again your support is amazing!

This was what I needed!

Other than one additional package I'm looking for (which is one of the new Themes I commented on looking for the file (not any of the ones you have already provided your amazing help on) I am really getting the hang of how thibfs work.
I really appreciate your work on this project and your continued amazing support.

I may have an updated Theme package to provide a couple fixes for.

I will check In a few more days on the Fun Plug links. I will leave that ticket open for now and will update it once I test it again after.

Cheers Mate!

John
