DNS320L setup help

Hi folks (windows 11 for reference). im no network pro but pretty tech savvy and fairly good at digging through settings and such. I've gone through the install, and wizard and dug through every menu page and option, also referred to this short guide https://groups.google.com/g/alt-f/c/GVSRG0et7jQ

however no matter what i try i cannot map a network drive. I have my user set, folder set up, SMB enabled however no matter what i change i get error: 0x80070043 network name cannot be found. I have tried every folder level from the root directory through to the user folder. Can anyone offer any insight?

I mainly want to use this old junker for storage/backup and i like tinkering

subnote.........just noticed my android phone maps the drive fine via SMB2 using xplore file manager

Col,

   Go to the "Packages" -> "Alt-F" menu and install the wsdd2 package.  Once this package is installed, go to the "Services" -> "Network Services" menu and make sure that the wsdd2 service is Boot Enabled and running.  This should fix the Windows 11 issue.

ironically it has now stopped connecting at all after doing this. including the main http admin page :)

nevermid a restart solved it. I can now access the drive through network section but still cannot map it directly in the "This PC" section via address/path

and we are mapped. Realised i had to use the domain name method ancd copied the address from nav bar. Appreciate your help. Now if only there was a magic cure for the hilariously poor speed of these boxes
