I have a DNS-320 vB1. I had two Seagate Barracuda 2Tb drives installed. It was previously running version 1.0 of the default D-link firmware.
I couldn't see an ffp function to remove prior to installing Alt-F, so proceeded to install Alt-F-1.0-DNS-320-rev-Bx.bin through the web interface.
The install appeared to go without issue, however on restart I was presented with an admin login page NOT the password-setting described. The original (stock firmware) password does not work.
The NAS does show up on the network but with no content shared.
I have tried holding the reset button (it's on the underside, not on the back) for 10 seconds, but connection is refused with both stock Windows Telnet and PuTTy. I have tried holding it for 20 seconds to force a full reset, but this also does not change anything. I have even held it for 30 seconds as I saw some people quoting that instead of what's in the FAQ.
I have tried the above with the NAS on, with it off, while it's powering on, and in all those varietions with and without the HDDs installed.
Is there something I'm overlooking here, or is my only remaining resort to solder up the JTAG pins to reflash it?
