Customize ALT-F for DNS-323

I replaced vendor f/w 1.10 on the DNS-323 that has been working flawlessly since 2012. I did it because I understand that ALT-F gives better diagnostic tools if one of 2TB drive starts experiencing some issues, recognizing that HDD are more than 14 years old. I am not sure how to customize the ALT-F UI so that it meets my needs. I cannot even find where my stored data is on the HDD thru a web UI. Is there a web link that gives clear tips on how to setup the DNS-323 for a setup that I with the original f/w 1.10? Or can someone give me lead? Thanks.
