how to get DLNA to work?

I have the current Alt-F on my DNS-320LW now, and did try several DLNA addongs, but didn't get anyone to work.

At best I had some DLNA, but the directories were empty althoug I set the directory for the videos and pressed save in the settings of the minidlna component. It is also shown as running, but it seems that it doesn't update the content of the directory.

Any idea or step for step instruction how to get this to work?
