Hi,
Used ffp0.5 for many years. Upgraded to ffp0.7 few months back. Now discovered alt-f and was very excited and tried immediately.
I removed (renamed) my ffp07 install. Installed alt-f over the d-link firmware and everything went perfect. I then installed ffp (0.5?) via the alt-f webpage. Transmission is for example working perfectly after this.
Problem 1 - DHCP-setting does not stick.
Even if I save my changes in the settings tab, after reboot the alt-f is always back to static IP. I have to set it manually to DHCP (which I also prefer), but wihtout DHCP I cannot access my shares over my LAN for some reason.
When using "reloaded" (or "on-top" ), fun_plug passes to Alt-F the current box IP, and Alt-F configures itself with it as a static IP.
You can change this by editing the fun_plug file and *commenting* the line "KIP=yes" near its top. (Setting it to "no" will *not* work.)
But then you will fall into a known RC2 issue, (no samba shares visible). Please read the RC2 release notes under the topic "Alt-F-0.1RC2 is released)"
Problem 2 - Lighttpd crashes
I have configured lighttpd via alt-f web-config. I have tried with and without php enabled. If I StartNow lighttpd via the web page, it says "Running". But if I go into Services/Network again it has reverted back to Stopped.
What am I missing here? And where is the lighttpd error log located?
Have you created the "Server root" directory? I set mine to "/mnt/md0/WebData"
The logs should be available at System->Utilities->View logs. If you can't find lighttpd.log there, try using the command line to start lighttpd:
rclighttpd start
and see if any message appears there.
Problem 3 - Dlink webpages are gone?
If I disable the fun_plug file and reboot, I get the "normal" D-link shares. But the D-link admin web-page is not working on the box IP-address. How come?
Alt-F has noting to do with it. Alt-F don't touch the box/disk settings. Probably the box is using a different IP, try looking at yours router DHCP server leases, or use the "open device webpage" (or whatever it is called) in the windows network browser, when pointing to the NAS and clicking the right mouse button.
