I roast my own and love 'em but sometimes I don't have time at work to
brew an espresso. In the past, having some chocolate coated coffee
beans worked just as well but I've always bought them already made. So
how hard is it to coat coffee beans with chocolate?

Are there any other 'foods' where coffee beans can fit in? Trail-mix?

Thanks,
Bob Wilson

I can't imagine it would be terribly difficult. You would have to melt your favorite chocolate in the top of a double boiler, add the beans and lay them out separately on waxed paper or baking paper to cool.

only am I a coffee snob, but I also make chocolate. Chocolate covered coffee beans are not something that can be made at home as it need a highly specialized piece of equipment called a panner.

Do not give up hope though. I have made something quite delicious that gives the same effect. Roast your beand and course crush them in a zip lock bag.

Get a 9X9 baking pan and either PAM it or line with parchment paper. Melt some chocolate and pour a thin layer in the bottom. Sprinkle the crushed beans over the top. Once set, pour another layer of chocolate over the beans, Break into pieces and enjoy.
