Conical versus Flat Burr Grinder

What is the difference in results between a flat burr grinder and the
more expensive conical burr grinder? I happened to be poking around
the Internet and found a lot of nice things said about Gaggia's
8002-MDF - if one shows up on ebay for a bargain, I might get. If the
resulting ground coffee different, is it a difference in durability or
reliablity?
