Go to www.dishpointer.com and locate the photo of your house. Without a receiver model number I can tell you precisely which satellites to look at but there are Directv satellites at 99.2W, 101W, 102.8W, 110W and 119W. If you can find a spot on the house to put the dish that will clear all the trees, you'll be golden.
Tree trimming helped but did not correct pixelization/screen freeze/721 error. A digital signal finder reads signal strength a steady 99% at F connector on rear of D11 receiver and doesn't decrease during times the problem occurs. Requested another receiver from D; unfortunately, the one they sent was an old beat-up Samsung that had broken pieces rattling around inside it. DT was less than understanding and claimed that any replacement receivers they sent would be used and might not work. Ebay and Amazon have new receivers for sale, but don't which to buy. Replaced all cables (F connector and S video). Problem started in April and got gradually worse since then. No problem on local channels or a few others. Can receive CNN 202 with no problem, but can't receive Headline News 204. Problem is much worse in daytime. Any suggestions would be appreciated. HG
Please post back with your signal readings for each satellite's transponders (and both tuners if applicable). You'll find these readings under "Menu" -> "Setup" -> "System Setup" -> Satellite -> "View Signal Strength". Note the "+" and "-" symbols next to the "Satellite" and "Tuner" entries where you can toggle the readings between the various satellites and both DVR tuners.
The screen message is 721. The problem starts with parts of the screen pixelizing. Rapidly, the entire picture breaks up and the screen goes black. Then a small blue box appears in lower right corner of the screen that displays the message; Searching for Satellite Signal. Error message 721. After a few seconds the picture reappears and the cycle repeats.
You are correct. The 101 stations are most affected. The receiver is a D11-100. The broken replacement was a D12-100. The Samsung is a receiver that was setup in another room during initial installation.

Then inspect your dish to verify you can mechanically move the dish. It may be impossible to re-aim the dish if the hardware is so corroded that there is a risk of breaking fasteners holding the dish in place.
For mesh dishes, as shown in Fig. 1, ensure the parabola is structurally sound, not bent or damaged. If you have a mechanical issue, what do you do? You may be required to replace the dish, and for this, you need time!
In closing, Mike mentions www.dishpointer.com. They have a very accurate satellite overlay for checking azimuths. This is the first place Mike went to after seeing the change in birds. The site allows you to check look angle and bore sight.
