I have a K100 keyboard which I have plugged into a KVM switch and shared between two computers (one gaming PC, and one work MacBook Pro laptop). Every couple of days, the keyboard has started randomly typing on its own while I am working on the MacBook. It usually seems to type messages that I previously typed on the gaming PC and it won't stop until I unplug the keyboard and plug it back in. Obviously I find this behavior rather alarming as I don't like the idea of the keyboard storing and replaying my keypresses, which it does appear to be doing.

Is there a resolution to this issue? I saw other similar issues reported here, but none specifically with the K100. I really love the keyboard other than this problem, but am tempted to return it if it cannot be resolved.

To clear the onboard memory, hold the ESC key while plugging in the USB keyboard connector (S then T), then release the ESC key after two seconds. The keyboard will then power on normally and be reset to factory defaults.

I have the same issue. I thought my computer had been hacked. It was typing out an oddly specific line from a very sensitive email, 2 days out from a major event that I am the operations manager for. At the time, I was interacting with consumer data. I had to completely sanitise my workstation, accounts, cards, everything. I thought someone was typing to me at first; it was extremely distressing.

I have bought top of the range corsair components and peripherals for 10-20 years and this incident has put me through enough stress to lose faith in the brand. I have videos of the behaviour (in safe mode too, so it's definitely the keyboard, not that I could afford that assurity at the time) and seeing the lack of any real response here, I think I'll just share those on my discord and take my business elsewhere.

K100 Optical keyboard brand new, from Corsair Store via Amazon. Seemed fine but then it started typing out stuff I had written days (weeks?) ago. I think it was fine before I installed iCue2. I was running it with the older iCue software for a while. Can't be sure, only that the keyboard has keylogged data and is spewing it out, without input from user. I have videos of the behaviour (in safe mode too - behaviour stops when USB is removed, so it's definitely the keyboard, not that I could afford that assurity at the time).

Seriously, I just bought the K100 a few weeks ago and I have not even installed iCue. It's a Wednesday at 8PM, I was just authoring a document and the keyboard starting typing full sentences from a sensitive chat conversation I was having early Monday morning, repeating keystrokes with control characters and all. I saw it backspacing and correcting my sentence the same way I did. How is this possible? Why is the keyboard logging keystrokes? This has to go in the garbage. I can't have it tweeting my bank account password while I step away.

Having the exact same problem on a brand new K100, kinda feels like the firmware of the device has been compromised as there should be no reason that the device is logging keystrokes and replaying them back in hardware.

Wrote out a work document, shut down and rebooted the following morning and its literally typing the whole document out on startup to windows, opened up a notepad and saw it type 100+ letters out.

Things I have done to try and resolve;
Forced firmware update - no change, issue still occurs
Factory reset - no change, issue still occurs
Clear keyboard memory - no change, issue still occurs

This problem occurs regardless of iCue being installed or not, so the problem is with the device. I've raised a ticket to Corsair #2005672589 and await their response i've gone back to the K95 until I have an answer.

Last week i received my RMA K100. At first only behave strangely where the control wheel, profile switch and Win lock light will turn off follow the WIN key press or folder being open automatically. Yesterday suddenly Win+R then auto type netplwiz and Logout my system. I thought my pc being hack so i perform a clean windows installation. To my surprise when windows 11 installation request online account. It auto inputting my email and my new password. After installation i perform reset and force firmware update.

Bought this keyboard a couple months ago. Just now started acting up. Was typing in stuff I have typed weeks or more ago in the same manor I typed it in with hesitations and deletes. This is bad for business. Swapped out the keyboard for a cheap Walmart one and no more ghost typing.

Just happened to me, was playing Need for Speed Unbound on a controller, and all of a sudden the game started doing all kinds of wacky things. I thought that it was the game at first, and I went to refund it. While typing out my reason to refund it, the keyboard just randomly started typing things out. Why are keystrokes being logged first of all?? For such an expensive keyboard, this is insanity.

So this honestly sounds like the macro recording is the issue we're having. I don't think the keyboards are intentionally trying to log everything you type, but rather macro recording is being unintentionally triggered to record and then activating to repeat what it recorded.

Same issue here. This is UNACCEPTABLE. I will NEVER buy a corsair product again. I suspect the keyboard is to blame for logging important financial information and going on a mind of its own typing it out for everyone to see.

This is a serious issue and I will be returning both the mouse and the keyboard. A defective mouse is one thing but a keylogging keyboard that has a mind of its own is a serious issue. I hope more people become aware of this HUGE security issue.

My keyboard was typing keystrokes from weeks prior on its own. I thought I was hacked and I will still have to perform sanitation over my machine and passwords out of precaution. Thank you for making me look bad infront of my work because of your absolute garbage product. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a serious lawsuit that comes from this if a company faces issues and it's traced to this product.

This is very odd behavior for the Keyboard to type on it's own without intentionally using the Macro Record feature and pressing the key the macro is assigned to. We do have two K100 model keyboards now, and it would be helpful to let us know which model you all have. Easiest way is the part number on the bottom label starting with a "CH-". Although it looks like most of you have already done this, but for anyone new, make sure iCUE is updated to the latest version, firmware updates are processed under Device Settings, and the keyboard is plugged directly into the PC and not a dock, USB hub, or KVM.
