Hi guys,

I have some problems to extract the Cryptomatte manifest under Nuke from a Maya render.

- Maya 2017 update 4, Arnold 5 - 2.0.1.1
- Nuke 10.5 and 9.0v8
- Cryptomatte 1.2 beta 4 (before was 1.1 but same problem)
- The Maya and Nuke workgroups are well set over the network.

If I render only the material alone, or asset-object together, I don't have any problems extracting anything.

However, If I select the 3 kinds of mattes together - Asset, material, object - I cannot extract the manifest in Nuke, I get an error "No Cryptomatte manifest was found in the input".

This scene was create in Maya 2017 with MtoA 2.0.1.1. As a test, I have opened the same scene in Maya 2016.5, plugged alshader under Arnold 4, and extracting all the channels works fine.

Has anyone had any problems with Cryptomatte in Maya 2017 withe the latest MtoA ? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I have attached a test for you guys to check out ...

-The Maya 2017 Scene
-A single frame that shows the problem we are having ('testcrypto2017v6.0001.exr')
-The same frame that shows that it works fine in 2016.5
-and a test .nk script to look at the result

Thanks,

Stan

Hi Stanislas,

Good timing, I'm working on a bug fix release now. However I'm pretty sure this problem was already fixed by Sen Haerens. This issue caused EXRs with multiple cryptomattes in them to miss the crypto_material manifest, so it looks like exactly what you're seeing.

If anyone else has any bugs to report, now is an excellent time.

Hi Jonah,

Thanks for your fast answer!
Any idea where I can find that fix over the internet? If not, I'm gonna wait for your next bug fix release! I guess my problem fix will be included!
I will owe you a drink!

Stan!

Hi Stanislas ,

There's no release or builds available yet for it, but if you have the ability and want to build it yourself from source you can check out my fork of the AlShaders2 repo. Otherwise I'd suggest waiting for the release, (which we want to be sure of before putting it out there).
