Hello,

I am currently facing difficulty rendering standin with cryptomatte object(aov)
I am using arnold 4.12, Maya 2017

1) i exported a standin with alSurface Crypto AOV's
2) i create the same file in maya create AOV's with same name
3) create renderlayer add objects to the lyr
4) I create render overrides with alSurface shader
5) i try rendering with arnold render the crypto - asset , crypto - material works

but crypto - object dosent render atleast with render override

but if we assign alsurface shader directly to the standin then it render the crypto - object

The second problem is,
when i take the file to nuke cryptomatte node is not able to detect the type?? no clue

Thanks in advance.

Try turning off deferred loading on your standin.

Second problem, I have no idea.

Have you checked if the override standin shaders option on the standin node is off? That’ll use whatever shaders were baked into the .ass files.

Hello,

1) i exported standins with alSurface Crypto AOV's and create standin and saved it in a ma file
2) referencing all the standins that are saved in a ma file
3) assigning all of them alsurface shader
4) imported the aovs
5) rendered with arnoldrenderview which gave me the result
6) but now some assets are rendering black and some are displaying IDs
7) and the nuke node is also attaching with the crypto object

even though the alpha is coming proper the file is not containing the crypto object and few of the object are render black any suggestions will be very helpful

I can't really help you with your problem, it's too complicated for me to understand what's happening without digging in. There may be a bug or there may not be. Here's some background info that might help you figure out what's happening though.

AOVs in ass files don't matter. You only need the right AOVs to be active in the scene you're rendering from.

2) referencing all the standins that are saved in a ma file

Maya references shouldn't matter.

3) assigning all of them alsurface shader

This then overrides the shaders in the ass file.

4) imported the aovs

Not sure what "importing" here is referring to, but it doesn't matter: There only need to be active RGB AOVs that have the same names that the alsurface shaders are expecting.

5) rendered with arnoldrenderview which gave me the result

To an EXR file, right? Saving the image from the renderview won't save the necessary metadata.

6) but now some assets are rendering black and some are displaying IDs

No idea what's happening.

7) and the nuke node is also attaching with the crypto object

So I guess there's at least metadata? Still, no idea.
