The problem in Windows 10:
When you have a widescreen, with aresolution of 1920x1080 or higher or a bit lower, in Windows Vista, 7,8 and 8.1 you would put your DPI scaling to 125% or higher to maketext and images appear larger and more easy to read. But when you putthe DPI scaling to 125% in Windows 10, you see in a lot of dialogs andwindows the font gets very blurry.

Errors related to photoviewer.dll can arise for a few different different reasons. For instance, a faulty application, photoviewer.dll has been deleted or misplaced, corrupted by malicious software present on your PC or a damaged Windows registry.

In the vast majority of cases, the solution is to properly reinstall photoviewer.dll on your PC, to the Windows system folder. Alternatively, some programs, notably PC games, require that the DLL file is placed in the game/application installation folder.

I have had an issue where my workplace policies dictate that you can not have desktop experience however windows photo viewer is required in some cases

As so i was manually copying the file in from another computer, adding the reg keys and registering the service, but i got frusterated at wasting 10 min every time, so i made a batch file

The following section, when added to a batch file, will create the directories, copy the files *from the local install of windows SXS* then it will register the service and add the reg entries for windows photo viewer to run.

Yes, You can use domain group policy in domain controller using gpmc.msc in run command.
you will have to download windows photo viewer with msi extension file and follow the step how to deploy software using group policy.

Hello everybody. thanks for your work. Tried atlas and iit is realy good on many task. I have a problem tough. I am in an office environment, and i print a lot. First problem is i can not seem to activate old windows photo viewer, and right clik context menu missing print option. Tried different reg hacks for photo viewer and didn't seem to work.

Photo Viewer: the program itself might be removed, so only reg hacks probably won't work. you can try enabling UPW and re-install windows photo viewer from MS Store(not sure if it will work). Or use 3rd party img viewer such as IrfanView/XnView/FastStone like I do(Irfan actually is much better than windows photo viewer in my opinion).

Print: I guess you were talking about the "print" command in context menu of image files? It calls windows photo viewer to finish the printing, since the photo viewer is removed so you can't print images this way. If you insist on this you can try to install photo viewer back and see if it comes back.

I don't know how to enable UPW. Tried to find some info on internet but info seem very vague, nothing specifical. Sorry , i am not very techi on this kind of things. finded some photoviewer.dll, and run some reghack, but nothing copme to life, only some error on load image, i will rerun and come back with error info.

TRIED SOME "HACKS" but none worked. Instaled dual boot with full windows 10, copied folder windows photo viewer from booth program files and x86, searched photovierwer.dll and copied on some l;ocation from winxs, but cannot find folder lcu from servicing folder , even if i try to create i receive respons that is already. here :(.

after some google search i bump into -> -classic-windows-photo-viewer-in-server-2016/ which works well except group policy is on computer level and might not work for everyone and most importantly hinders further customization.

so after further google search and come across -> -rankin.com/articles/per-user-ftas-file-type-associations-in-windows-10-server-2012-r2-and-server-2016-the-final-word/ and followed the Citrix WEM section on how to setup New FTA, get ProgId, Target Application and Command.

I have this simple line to launch a jpg using windows Photos, ShellExecute($DisplayPhoto1[0]) (The variable is a path to a jpg). Windows did that stupid update a couple nights ago and ever since then every time this executes the window pops up asking what app I want to use to open the file. I select the Photos app and check the always use this app, but even though I check the always use this app, this window keeps coming up. Now if I go and click a jpg file directly, the image opens up in Photos without any issue. What has happened? What can I do to fix or work around this? And no, I can't do a windows roll back because for some reason all of my windows recovery points were wiped out even though I have over 200G of free space smh.
