By default, the Quick Launch bar is not available in Windows 7. To open programs quickly, you can drag the program icons to the taskbar.
However, you can follow the steps in this article to restore the Quick Launch bar and the Show Desktop button as it was in Microsoft Windows Vista and Windows XP.
Today, AWS announces the general availability of SaaS Quick Launch, a new deployment option for software-as-a-service (SaaS) products in AWS Marketplace. SaaS Quick Launch enables customers to reduce the time and resources required to configure and launch third-party SaaS products on AWS.
For certain SaaS categories, including security and monitoring products, configuring and launching software after purchasing can be time-consuming and costly due to the lack of integration between cloud service providers and third-party SaaS products. Prior to SaaS Quick Launch, customers would often invest numerous hours configuring accounts, authorizations, and integrations before they could begin to realize benefits. Manual multi-step configuration processes increase operational burden, add DevOps costs, and can expose customers to security risks. AWS Marketplace SaaS Quick Launch streamlines this process by offering guided, step-by-step instructions and resource deployment using pre-configured CloudFormation templates. These templates are defined and validated by both the software vendor and AWS, ensuring configuration adheres to latest AWS security best practices, and include the minimum resources required for a SaaS product to operate on AWS.
The part in the red box below is what's being added using the above instructions, and it comes complete with three recent documents in it. It's supposed to be an application quicklaunch. This is a clean install of Windows 10 1909 (two days ago), so there is nothing left over that is causing this.
It may be possible to skip step 3, and then for 6/7, just press Ctrl-V. I'm posting exactly what I did. (And I'm not rebuilding my quick launch bar to test that.) If you get a documents toolbar, go back and follow the instructions exactly.
This is really annoying. Double tapping brings up the camera, with a notification saying 'camera opened via quick launch', but the camera can't be used until I press "ok"... Thus defeating the purpose of a quick launch function. Any workarounds?
I have a SP 2013 site that is made up of several libraries, lists, and site pages. I have been requested to give a certain group of users access to certain components of the site. Those components are the home page, another site page, and a library. They are not allowed access to the rest of the site.I have broken inheritance on the site pages and library and given this group of users read permission on the certain pages they are allowed to see including the home page. I have also done the same for the library. The problem is that when the user goes to the site they don't see the quick launch bar at all. The quick launch bar has numerous links including links to the pages and library that the users have access to. I thought that quick launch would be security trimmed and these users would see the links for the pages and library they have access to. However, the whole quick launch is missing along with the newsfeed. I thought that limited access permissions would give these users permissions to these pages and quick launch.
In Windows 10 I was using a few 'Quick Launch Toolbars' in the native Taskbar which was a feature that has been removed from Windows 11 (along with most of the other 'useful' features Windows 10 had). These 'Toolbars' were a target to folders with a group of Apps for quick access (click to bring up the list, click to open an app). Is there any way or any plan to add this feature to Start11? I am aware of a couple other 3rd party workarounds, one being TrayToolbar and the other ExplorerPatcher that may provide this feature, but I'm sketptical about installing these not knowing if they are compatible with Start11 which has been working well by itself and better now on v1.3.
Yes, please! Just forced to upgrade to Windows 11 last night on work laptop. Quick launch and taskbar grouping are the 2 most important features to me, I can't believe MS took them away. Thank you Start11 for restoring grouping - I hope quick launch is added soon.
This is probably the best way to add a quick launch menu for the Windows 7 and Modern Styles. I still think in the Windows 10 and 11 Styles, adding a page to the Start Menu to replace your Quick Launch Toolbar, and then adding all your shortcuts grouped by category is the best way to go.
I used to quickly launch my browsers and FTP sessions from there. Just one click, go. One click, go. Open a new browser, open a new window, open a new FTPS session, etc. No having to click into the start menu. Just one click, go. It's a small convenience but feels like so much more when you use it daily.
I went ahead and installed ExplorerPatcher to see what happens. It worked. It's a little buggy at first, but my tabs eventually popped up and I was able to create the quick launch taskbar. It simply takes over from Start 11 while Start 11 is still able to manage the start menu. That was everything I ever wanted. Original taskbar with its quick launch mixed with the Windows 10 start menu. I am in heaven now. I just hope it all remains this way when I reboot
My watch 5 pro is 2 days old and I'm trying to use the quick launch gesture, flick wrist down 2x, and it's not working! Anyone else have this problem?? Tempted to factory reset to see if the update messed it up. I don't have any issues with turn wrist to wake.

Now try launching the browser from a shortcut/quick launch icon and see if you get the same results. If the browser launches as intended, all you need to do to get your data back is to go to the same directory listed above, and replace the newly installed User data directory with the one that you saved in the steps above.
Quick Launch works by creating a toolbar on your computer desktop or taskbar, where you can add shortcuts to your favorite applications and files. These shortcuts are represented by icons, and you can arrange them in any order you prefer. When you need to launch a program or open a file, simply click on its corresponding icon in the Quick Launch toolbar, and it will open instantly.
Quick Launch can significantly enhance your productivity by providing quick and easy access to frequently used programs and files. Instead of navigating through multiple folders or searching for applications in the Start menu, you can simply click on the corresponding icon in the Quick Launch toolbar to launch the desired program instantly. This saves time and allows you to focus on your tasks more efficiently.
Yes, you can add web shortcuts to the Quick Launch toolbar. This enables you to quickly open your favorite websites with a single click. To add a web shortcut, simply create a new shortcut on your desktop, enter the uniform resource locator (URL) of the website, and then drag and drop the shortcut onto the Quick Launch toolbar. Now, you can access your favorite websites directly from the toolbar.
Adding shortcuts to the Quick Launch toolbar is easy. First, locate the program or file you want to add a shortcut to. Right-click on it and select "Create shortcut." Then, drag and drop the shortcut onto the Quick Launch toolbar. The icon for the program or file will now appear in the toolbar, allowing you to launch it quickly whenever you need it.
Quick Launch is typically designed for desktop computers and laptops. However, many smartphones and tablets have their own built-in shortcuts or app launchers that provide similar functionality. These shortcuts allow you to quickly access commonly used apps or perform specific actions with just a few taps on your device's screen. Check your device's settings or user manual to learn how to customize and use its Quick Launch features.

This can be particularly useful if you frequently access certain project folders or frequently used directories on your computer.
While web browsers do not have a direct equivalent to Quick Launch, they offer features that provide quick access to websites. Most modern web browsers allow you to bookmark your favorite websites, which you can access with a single click from the browser's bookmarks bar or menu. Additionally, browsers often have a "recently closed" or "most visited" section that displays frequently accessed sites, further facilitating quick access to your preferred web destinations.
