For several decades the ANC and SACP have embraced the theory and approach of the National Democratic Revolution or NDR. Since the late 1980’s Cosatu also embraced this approach to the liberation struggle and socialism. For some, this approach has deflected the struggle of workers for socialism while for others like Numsa, the NDR has been derailed. However, for the majority in Cosatu, the NDR is on track and is still viewed as the correct political approach to ensure a prosperous future for the working class.
