If Zelda Wind Waker and Harvest Moon: Light of Hope had a love child, it would be this game. The graphics are fun and animated without losing its integrity, while the music is whimsical and childlike. The trailer began with happy sheep bleating in the distance and allowed viewers to really get a taste for what Farm Folks is all about. There was farming, animal raising, mining, fishing, and making friends with the locals. All while the seasons changed from a bright happy summer, to a silent yet beautiful snowy winter.
As far as I am concerned, every farming simulator deserves a special place in my heart and Farm Folks is no exception. I look forward to seeing the finished product and desperately hope the fishing aspect is easier than in Stardew Valley. The one aspect I am looking forward to the most? Two words, unicorn cows. I mean look at them, they are the cutest things in the galaxy. Overall, farmers everywhere will lay down their sickles and pick up a controller to play Farm Folks.
Stellar Blade launched last week, yet you wouldn't believe it with all the talk surrounding the title to do with censorship and the game's jiggle physics. If you were, let's say, the developer of a cozy indie farming sim that had previously shown very little concern about how bouncy their female characters' chests are, now would be the worst time to make a comment about it.
However, the team behind indie title Farm Folks thought it would be a terrific idea, and recently put out an incredibly strange tweet showing off varying levels of jiggle physics on the game's female characters, asking fans which version had the "perfect" jiggle. To make things even stranger, this tweet was followed up by another asking fans if they wanted to see "what 150% looks like", seemingly sexualizing one of their characters to an audience that has absolutely no interest in that kind of content.
If we're being generous, it was most likely an ill-thought-out joke that spilled over onto the Farm Folks official Twitter account, with the developers greatly misunderstanding what its fans are actually interested in the title for. On the other hand, jiggle physics and "censorship" over sexuality is all the rage at the minute thanks to Stellar Blade and Eve, and developer Crytivo may have thought it could muscle in on that particular audience.
Following a tonne of backlash from the game's largely female audience, Crytivo has unsurprisingly deleted the tweet and made an official statement apologizing for their post that it admits "crossed a line." According to the apology, the developer had "received concerns" about the game's jiggle physics in the past and was asking the community what felt more appropriate, though it admitted the "150% jiggle" comment was out of line.
That would be enough to sweep the entire thing under the rug, had the Farm Folks community manager not made some rather explosive comments on the game's Discord channel. Shared by Twitter user Pilnock, the community manager going by the username Kirara Lara claimed that the people offended by the tweet are simply "complainers", sees "nothing wrong" with the tweet, and that only "pervy people" are making jiggle physics a sexualized issue.
Whatever your stance is on jiggle physics as a whole, I think most of us can agree that it's a rather foolish thing to focus on when your audience simply wants some cozy farming sim fun, and Crytivo has managed to burn a lot of the goodwill that it's raised over the years of development by doing so. Hopefully, Crytivo learns from the error, and actually understands why its fanbase is upset.

Otto, the local fisherman of Port Meridia, would call it a crime if you couldn't bait your rod and cast it to the blue in a place like this! Fishing is one of the most relaxing activities in Softshoal, and a popular pastime in Port Meridia thanks to the surrounding seas and rivers.
All crops need basic care, but they'll need special attention to produce the best yield. You'll need to learn which type of fertilizer and water each crop loves best. Some crops grant special bonuses to others around them, adding an element of strategy to crop composition and farm layout.
You also will have a place to create building presets and share them with other players online. This way, players that would love to build buildings at once can save a lot of time and grinding by placing packaged building blocks (this system will see the light a bit later in development).
You can start farming anywhere you want! By selecting the hoe tool, you can start making plots and planting crops. We also designed modular planters that come with 3 height variations: low, medium, and high. These planters can be placed indoors or outdoors. When you place a single planter, it becomes a single flower pot. However, by merging a few planters together, you can build unique shapes and create beautiful green ferns or even a maze!
