I downloaded the program and set a password without locking any files or folders, now that i want to lock a file or folder i cant because i have forgotten the password i set up. I cant uninstall the program without the password which it asks for. How can I retrieve my password or uninstall so i can re-install with a new password?
First off in the future do not make a program that has a password lockout of uninstalling this is a form of malware, we should not have to reformat the HDD to remove a program period. second off make a way to retrieve lost passwords or even reset them though registered e-mail or something because people forgetting their password these days is a very common thing. In any event we would like a way to get this program of yours off our computers, I loved iobit with ASC free and smart defrag etc. but you should never make a program with no way to remove it if password is locked that is ludicrous.
When I try to unistall the program, it asks for a password, what program does that?? And I'm for sure at the password I set for it, but it's telling me the password is wrong...wtf?:-? ...I just wanna know if there's a way to get into it, so I can retrieve my folders, and uninstall it!:cry:
When the license expires, IObit Protected Folder will continue to function as full Premium untill the total of 30 trials are used (It will warn you when 3 trials are left until no trial is left), then it will only unlock/unhide the protected files/folders. (No more protection for newly chosen files and folders.)
I just re-upped on ASC Pro (1 license 3 computers) and received a free license for Protected Folder for one year. How many computers is the Protected Folder license valid for? Thanks
After you enter the license to Protected Folder program, please click on Registered link on the main GUI, Registration window will open and Show you the License Seat: (How many PCs the license is for) together with the License Status:, License Code:,and Expiration Date:.
I recently noticed that my Superfetch service, while set to automatic, was stopped. When trying to turn it on, I got the error that a file was not found. I then rebooted and it started, but stopped right away.
"I had a program from IoBit that would lock out some important documents and hide them in my computer until i inputted the password to unlock them. Well what happened was the program was hiding the documents from superfetch when the computer started and it caused it to terminate. As soon as i got rid of the program, the superfetch service was working again."
Curious, i went through my event log to see when the problem had started for me; the first instance was on 5/18/11. I then looked through IObit Uninstaller to see when I had installed Protected File. The answer: 5/12/11, the day it was offered on GAOTD.
Now, i love protected file and have used it since the day i got it, but unless this is a huge coincidence, it appears that the program is interfering with the Superfetch service. So is it a coincidence, or is this a known bug? Is there a fix? For example, all of my protected folders/files are on the same HDD but a different partition (D:) than my system files (C:); if I exclude C:\ from protection, will it leave superfetch alone?
Although excluding C:\Windows does not cure the problem, I confirm that Uninstalling Protected Folder is the solution for Superfetch not starting because of the file can not be found problem.

D. Try a new sequence. -- They can get corrupted, so start a new sequence in the same project and test that out. If it works, you might be able to copy/paste everything into the new sequence and get back to work.
