Police shot and killed a man in the Town of Broome after he shot first early Sunday morning.
Dying by gunfire was Richard Weldon, 27, who was shot after officers tried to persuade him to put down his gun.
State Police Major William Sprague gave the following account:
The Schoharie County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call at 1:21am Sunday that a domestic dispute in Broome involved a man with a gun.
Troopers, Sheriff's deputies and Department of Environmental Conservation police responded to the residence near Livingstonville.
When they arrived, the found Mr. Weldon in a car with his girl friend. The car was parked outside an occupied residence.
Police encouraged Mr. Weldon to exit the car and saw that he had a shotgun, later determined to be loaded.
Officers spoke with Mr. Weldon, encouraging him to put down the gun.
Mr. Weldon called out that he wanted police to "shoot him, kill him," Major Sprague said.
Then, Mr. Weldon "raised the shotgun and fired one round at officers."
Twelve officers were there; eight returned fire, "striking and killing Mr. Weldon," Major Sprague said.
He said Mr. Weldon was shot multiple times.
The girlfriend was not injured.
Police released few other details, including where Mr. Weldon was from, but they did say he had been arrested before.
Police will conduct an internal investigation; none of the officers involved in the shooting were put on leave, Major Sprague said, though they may do so on their own.
An autopsy on Mr. Weldon was to be performed Monday.
Im just curious as i have noticed recently i have been getting killed with literally 1 shot with an AR..Does anyone know what gun this maybe and are they just getting clean headshots or what? Its headshots. If your shooting skill is maxed out with a gun upgraded with the grip and scope its easy to get them, just practice moving the reticle up to the head on npcs. On free aim its a little tougher since you can graze people's heads and do damage but its gotta be centered for the one shot kill. The sns pistol gets dismissed by a lot of people but its a great gun for headshots especially when you're in cover.
always go for the head, its surprising how many players don't and will call you a cheater for killing them so quickly. The range of your target will matter so using the right weapon is important. From closest to farthest- shotgun/smg/pistol/assault rifles/mgs/snipers.

A criminal complaint filed in the U.S. District Court in Utah and obtained by CBS News details graphic threats gathered during an FBI investigation against a number of public officials. The suspect named in the complaint, Craig Deleeuw Robertson, was charged with three federal counts, including threats against a president. Authorities have not publicly confirmed the man who was killed is the man named in the complaint.
Online posts also showed an intent to kill Mr. Biden, the complaint said. In a post dated Aug. 6, Robertson allegedly wrote, "I hear Biden is coming to Utah," and that he was "cleaning the dust off his M24 sniper." The complaint showed photos of the suspect with a long-range rifle and a type of camouflage known as a ghillie suit.
