In the new version of AlpineBits it will be investigated the possibility to add the possibility to exchange detailed information about the reviews of a hotel.

This Thread is dedicated to the discussion of this topic and the collection of proposals.

As described in past meeting, into the  OTA protocol we can find: OTA_ReviewsNotifRQ and OTA_ReviewsRS

With OTA_ReviewsNotifRQ and OTA_ReviewsRS is possible to share aggregate reviews or specific review items.

Attached you find two examples, which contains a review and one with an aggregate

Writing of use cases other than mere exchange is difficult. Here are some examples:

Use case 1 (Distributor2member)

External review's supplier: Implements a Server version of the Alpinebits protocol.

Alpinebits's member: Implements the client version that receive and parse the client message.

·          - Web Portals: Have the ability to receive reviews with a n OTA standard

·          - PMS: Can receive reviews data and could be developed a reputation manager module. An useful tool that can help the hotelier to calibrate offers and self correct the experience gived to guests.. Email matching between review and PMS database could give some interesting feedback. Review data, if permitted by the supplier, could be relayed to other members without changes.

Findings:

Utopia(?) I don't know if big company will ever adopt this standard, but it's an OTA standard. Maybe introduce us as Alpinebits helps.

 

Use case 1bis (member2member)

Alpinebits members: Act as client and/or/ server and share the review informations:

·         - Web portals: Will have the ability of collect/share reviews in OTA standard (as offers..and other calls.)

·         - PMS: See "use case 1".Review data, if permitted by the supplier, could be relayed to other members without changes.

Findings:
it would be interesting to have a company or an entity internal of Alpinebits group that collects and shares reviews.
Or, if permitted, PMS could act as gateway between External Review Suppliers and Web Portals.

Use case 2 (ID Sharing/matching)

During the last Dev. Meeting, the implementation of this protocol was discussed. Daniele G. (Peer) had suggested a possible alternative Use Case that instead allowed the sharing of hotel ID associations with the IDs of Review distributors.

·         - PMS create a field that allows the hotelier to enter the IDs of the various Review distributors (eg TrustY * u, Tr * pAdvis * r)

·         - Web portals:have the opportunity to receive IDs (eg TrustY * u, Tr * pAdvis * r) and associate them with their personal data.

Findings:
In this case I do not think it makes sense to insert a review message management. To implement the idea of Daniel we could take advantage of existing calls such as that for allowing the exchange of hotel info.
