AlpineBits 2017-10 server testing availability

Hello all,

as agreed during the last developer meeting, Peer Srl is ready to test a
subset of AlpineBits 2017-10 features, as described in the RC1 document[0].

If there are **clients** ready to test data exchange with our 2017-10
server they are invited to contact me directly or to write on the list.

For the time being we are able to organize tests for the following
functionalities (ID - description):
- 3 - Review the GuestRequests fields for advertising in
order to unify them
- 6 - Delete room groups with empty inventory
- 9 - Mapping Inventory old categories and new categories
- 17 - Transmit free/bookable rooms
- 23 - "Purged data" FreeRooms message

[0] Please note that the data validation uses schemas that we developed
internally, we will switch to the AlpineBits RC schemas as soon as they
are available.

Hello all,

a brief status update about our testing server, as we added some further
functionalities to it, always referring to the RC1 document[0].

As stated in my original message, if there are **clients** ready to test

data exchange with our 2017-10 server they are invited to contact me
directly or to write on the list.

The added functionalities are (ID - description):
- 2 - Supplements
- 7 - Offers revision/improvements
- 11 - Gapless child prices up to the max age, as defined by the hotel
- 13 - Addition MinStay Through
- 22 - RatePlan Description
- 24 - Static Rate introduction

These functionalities in fact are all related and refer to the revised
RatePlan handling.

[0] The validation schemas are still internally developed and the
capabilities related to the RatePlans checks are not properly
checked/enforced, as they are being discussed in the group and may
change in the RC2 or later

Our server is currently aligned with all the changes introduced in RC3.

Hi Thank you for posting this, 

Can you help me answer the following questions as I am lost between details? What I am doing right now is that I need to collect data from Hotels about rooms availability and then push for the reservations. What I understand is that I want to create a client on My server. and then hotels will push data for me. but I don't understand where I should start do I need to start with the client or with the server. 

Also if I will start with the client  I don't know what I need to put on my web server so I get the client and what is the counterpart to connect with it.

Please help.

Hello Mohammed,

this post was about an old release of AlpineBits. Meanwhile the AlpineBits alliance released an updated version (2018-10) as announced on this forum.

In any case I believe the best way to answer your question is to refer you to the "Getting started" documentation, linked on the AlpineBits website: https://www.alpinebits.org/developers/

The roles and responsibilities of servers and clients are explained to some extents.

On the AlpineBits website you will also find references to technical consultants in case you need further assistance.
