I am planning to lead a trip up Dorado Needle Aug 8-9. If there is interest, I will make it first available to our mentor group and then to other Intermediate students.

There are also two route options: the std Intermediate 5.3 Northwest Ridge or the Selected Climbs (Nelson) Southwest Buttress at 5.8. My preference is for the SW Buttress but will make call based on team.

Please let me know if interested in joining and I will sign you up when I list it.

Unfortunately, I'll be in Boston for a wedding that weekend. 

But please keep me posted on climbs, I'm done with the endless studying and finally getting back into the spirit of climbing!! - Going to try Fisher Chimney's this weekend. :)

This sounds like a nice and challenging trip to me, especially the 5.8 Southwest Buttress.
 
Family schedule permitting, I’d like to sign up for it.

I'm interested as well, esp. the sw buttress

Would this be a hike in on the 8th, then climb & hike out on the 9th?

Yes - plan is to get as high as possible on the 8th, climb and descend on the 9th.

Hi Brian, thanks for posting this climb for the mentor group. I am dissapointed that I cannot go as I have prior commitments. My vote would have been the 5.8 route.

Oleg - you might be thinking of the NE Face of Eldorado as an ice climb. This is Dorado Needle a separate peak on the Kwlatti Icefield.

This climb is now scheduled with registration opening on July 24.  I will only give permission to enough people to fill the climb.  Send me a note if interested and we’ll talk before the 24th.  I’ll be in the Wind Rivers next week so we can catch up the week after as needed.

My wife should have her work schedule for August prior to the 24th and then I’ll know if she’ll be in town for the climb weekend to watch the kids.  If not, I’ll still try work something out to be able to go.

I am getting requests from folks outside our mentor group to join on Dorado Needle.

If you are planing to join (I think two or three of you expressed interest and/or are confirming schedules), please let me know so I don’t give away your spots.

Thanks guys. Go ahead and sign up on Fri.  Trip is me as leader, two from our mentor group and one Int student from Tacoma. 

Rich/Vik - if either want to join, let me know. Don't see an issue w either an additional rope team or three on one if its for you two.
