Following up on yesterday's round-up of three news items on the harms of at-will employment, I was pleased to learn that media and organizing project Labor Notes has announced a webinar specifically about the Just Cause employment standard, which can replace at-will employment and dramatically improve worker protections.
From the Labor Notes event announcement page at www.labornotes.org/justcause:

WEBINAR: An Introduction to Just Cause with Robert M. Schwartz
Thursday, July 9, 4 PM PDT, 7 PM EDT
Topics will be taken from his bestselling Labor Notes guides to stewards' rights, just cause, Weingarten rights, and strikes.
The first is entitled An Introduction to Just Cause and will be based on the book Just Cause: A Union Guide to Winning Disciplinary Grievances.
Among the subjects covered will be lax enforcement, due process, hearsay evidence, disparate treatment, and progressive discipline. We will be taking questions from participants.

Registration is free, though on the registration page you can choose to donate $5 or $10 to Labor Notes to support their efforts. Robert Schwartz's book on the same topic, Just Cause, is also available from Labor Notes at labornotes.org/store/just-cause
