to Ask Alph
When version 1.3 was introduced, there were a number of changes to the
in app Alph store, including the introduction of an "Alph
Professional" option that includes everything. As a bonus for folks
who had previously purchased the additional natural gas compounds, I
decided to reuse that option so that they would automatically be
upgraded to have the Alph professional option. However this meant I
could not change the name, price and description in the online store
until the new version was actually approved and available for sale in
the Apple App Store.
As it happened, it took a month for this to be accomplished (don't
ask) and I forgot to make the change in the excitement of finally
getting it approved. It wasn't until a week ago I noticed this and
made the appropriate changes and that rewording has now been approved
by Apple, so the option will now appear as what it really is in the
Alph store.
While testing this, I discovered a nasty bug with the Alph store,
which results in Alph crashing on start up on the iPad if you have
quit the program immediately after opening the store window. This has
been fixed in the next version, but please be sure and exit the store
window before shutting down Alph. If you do get caught by this,
please contact me for help in getting Alph going again.
There are some nice new features coming with the new version,
including the ability to copy and paste any objects and a model tool
which lets you create subflowsheets of the information diagram. The
version is complete and undergoing testing for submission in the near
future.
