As a member of the Credit Analysis Middle Office your primary responsibility is working with the Global Rates and FX Traders and Marketers to handle all pieces of the counterparty credit agenda.  The candidate will work closely with the Global Traders, Marketers, Quantitative Research, Senior Operations Management, Technology, Business Management and Compliance. 

 

The focus of the group is overwhelmingly one of control. This is particularly important on books with various currencies and complex products.  The desks the candidate will be looking after trade products from vanilla interest swaps and FX to extremely complex products that cover multiple asset classes.  Strong numeracy (not necessarily mathematics) is required to follow the composition of P&L coupled with excellent technical skills as this area is extremely tech intensive. The candidate will also need to have a very strong understanding of infrastructure as well being comfortable with the trade lifecycle and typical events that occur on a trade.

 

 

Responsibilities are:

Produce credit bills and review with senior traders / marketers

Investigate credit charges and produce recommendations for ways the business can adjust trading strategies to optimize overall firm credit costs

Prior to execution assist the Sales force with understanding of credit levels

Adhoc scenario based reporting, as requested by management

Productivity tools development & project management

Drive MO change management and technology to increase automation and controls 

 

Required skills:

  • Understanding of the transaction flow: Ability to look at the overall process and explain it to others

  • Technical skills: The daily tasks will involve using several applications as well as the standard desktop so must have an aptitude for this

 

The specific experience necessary for this position is:

  • Strong derivatives knowledge is required; knowledge of securities products is a plus
  • Basic accounting knowledge is required
  • Proficiency and prior process trading, calculating, reporting, and analyzing daily Profit&Loss statement experience is required
  • Self-motivation and demonstration of initiative
  • Excellent Analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication presentation skills
  • Highly organized
  • Extremely detailed orientated
  • Control orientated
  • Keen to question everything and understand the detail behind the numbers and/or process
  • BA or BS degree is necessary
