Hi King_Penguin Ive tried the recovery mode several times and it's still not going to the recovery mode screen. I'm holding the two buttons down even after the logo pops up like instructed and i hold it for a few more seconds maybe half a minute to a minute and it brings me back to the lock screen where it says ipad is disable connect to itunes i have installed itunes on my computer and have the latest version. I'm not sure what else to do
I've connected it to my computer and tried recovery. I held down the home button as i plugged it in and connect to itunes came up so i opened itunes and chose to restore the ipad and then the computer lost cmonnection with the ipad and now the apple logo wont even sohow up when i plug it in, any other things i could do??
i shutdown my ipad and when i press the power button to turn it on again the apple logo appear and after 5 sec the logo disappear again then get to black screen
i have connected it to my pc and click on restore & update to 7.1.2 when finish nothing happend ! it still stuck :(
This same thing is happening to me as well and is incredibly frustrating. There are no errors when it happens, but it does swap over to the linked keyboard and mouse version (even though it doesn't work that way). I am fully up to date at time of post: Monterey 12.4 (21F79) and iPadOS 15.5. I am on a Mac Pro 2019 and the iPad Pro 4th generation.
Hello, I've been having the same problem as well when connecting my M1 MacBook air with my iPad Pro and both of them are up to date / also tried keeping them connected via USBC but doesn't seem to help
After this has gone through, sign back into iCloud and manually do a backup by selecting Storage & Backup and scrolling down to select the Back Up Now option. Once this is complete, use your iPad as you would. Over the course of the next few days, go back to where that Back Up Now option was and below it you will see when the last backup was done. This should be changing almost daily if the mentioned measures earlie in my response have been met.
This is a head scratcher. Since the last update (13.4) sometimes when I receive a call it is only ringing on my iPad. I have to answer there on speaker, and it does not give me the option to transfer to my phone. I have restarted all devices and that still did not work.
Thanks for posting this solution. Found this one after trying 3 or 4 OEM lightning cables, apple adapters, connecting to macbookpro, cleaning power port and none of them stopped the reboot loop. apple's knowledgebase suggested it could be damaged power port on ipad. when i was thinking taking it to apple center is the next step, i found this solution. ipad shouldn't be rebooting when it has detected reliable power supply. hopefully this is fixed in 10.x.
I have recently tried to fix an ipad air with a similar issue. It seems to have run out of power and it was not used for about a month. Rest assured it didn't charge anymore even when plugging it in for days (tried all chargers including pcs and laptops). Didn't even start up or indicate empty battery or charging battery symbol. This was until I dug out an old 12W charger I had received with my old ipad 1. About five seconds after plugging it in the apple logo appears and it seems to try to boot up. Five seconds later it crashes into the black screen again. After five seconds it tries to start up again and it follows this cycle endlessly.
The WiFi does turn off when the iPad is placed in sleep mode, unless it is connected to a power source. To answer your question to Tamara, I have done ping tests to verify this behavior. When in sleep mode and not connected to power I get no response to pings. When connected to a power source, I get a response from my iPad to the pings.
I just performed a test on Craig's Info on Push Services. Email does come through when the iPad is in sleep mode but takes a long time to come through. I suspect that when your iPad is in sleep mode email falls back to the Fetch schedule.
I never said that you couldn't receive notifications or email when not plugged in. In fact I agree with Craig Brady that WiFi probably doesn't go to sleep completely. My tests indicate that at least for emails, WiFi does wakeup and periodically check for Pushed emails. I further suspect that the frequency it checks for Pushed emails may be tied to the Fetch frequency in Settings. I plan to set it to Manual tonight and see if I get any emails overnight with the power off.
Basically, when it's charging (I've tried wall and desktop computer.) it shows the Apple logo, then boots up, shows the lock screen for a second, then dies, then repeats this process over and over until I take it out, then it does the "No battery" sign.
A better solution than the one suggested below is to put the ipad into DFU restore mode (holding the power and home buttons through a restart and then releasing power button). Then let it sit in DFU mode where it says connect to a computer. It will slowly charge in this mode. After 10-20 minutes you can hold both buttons to reboot it back to normal mode.
WIldchild7778 I tried exactly what you did. All I get is the iPad goes to the plug into iTunes screen. When I unplug from the wall charger it turns off then doesn't turn back on when I plug it into my computer. Any one know how to get past this stage?
My volume is turned up, it's not on mute, alarms and other things that make noise work, it's not set to "do not disturb" or anything like that. If I happen to have the iPad open when a Facetime call arrives I can see it, but it's silent and not ringing. Facetime works fine except if somebody calls me it won't ring. If I happen to see the call coming in I can answer and we are set to go but it doesn't ring even though I have both the Alert and Notification set to have a tone.
Instead, I had to do a "hey siri" then I asked siri to restart the ipad for me, it said I would have to unlock the ipad first, but luckily my face id worked to do so, and then I was able to click RESTART when siri offered the button option. Very odd experience.
I have the iPad Pro 10.5 inch for roughly 4 months. I started finding intermittent touch issues that have been random. Its extremely bad when playing games where precision touch and timing are critical. Just normal day to day usage for email, web browsing, etc. you would not notice it much unless you attempt to draw in notepad, then I can see how occasionally it does not register touch while sliding a stylus and other times, its like a rapid touch response.
i need help. I change the screen by myself following guide from this web, when i done the ipad is working good 100% but when i plug the charger nothing happened, i review all connectors again and everything is correct, now ipad is dead and i can't charg it from any source (computer or wall) i used two diferent cables and nothing. Any idea for solution please?
Hello guys, i have kinda similar problem. Screen replacement on ipad air 1 went ok but after it ipda is acting extremely weird when it comes to charging. When ipad is on and screen is locked/standby mode then it wont charge, the moment i press home button or power button to wake the screen up ipad starts to charge. I even tryed to test it with new digitizer bc it might be something wrong with digitizer i placed...still the same problem. I am using voltage meter to check how much it goes in ipad and when screen is turned on ipad takes 0.91 - 1.20 A and the moment screen goes off i can see 0.00. Im thinking it can be charging port failure but i am not quite sure. Any help would be appreciated.
You are a life saver. I've been looking all over the web for anything similar to my problem. (iPad 3) Had a cracked screen, ordered replacement parts, was super careful, and put everything back together and this is exactly what happened. Battery must have died and it is stuck in this boot loop phenomenon. Only problem is, I can't seem to find this tiny component to flick back on. Could you explain where I could find this? I feel like I've looked everywhere. Unless my iPad doesn't have this switch. Your help on this would be absolutely amazing. Thank you!
iPad 3 does not have a gas gauge filter that is commonly flicked off like the mini. In iPad 3, a boot loop can often be caused by 1--tearing of the flex between the mainboard and cell board in cellular models. Or 2--If you pulled up the board off the battery, and it is not re-seated on the battery then you will see Apple logo then nothing. If you did NOT pull up the battery when doing your screen change, then this probably isn't it either. Tell us more (start a new questions) for iPad 3 and we can help you.
one of the screws that hold the lcd connector was not in place. it was the screw on the right side between the to flexcables of the touch screen. i put i a new screw as we have those on stock. thinking of a mistake i made ones with a iphone 5 where there was a wrong screw and i got the blue screen of dead. i removed the screw in the ipad and it started to charge again.
But let's step back a little - what is the purpose of you wanting to avoid the situation where your iPad disconnects from Wi-Fi? Continuous connectivity, of course - not getting your streaming video or audio interrupted. This happens when your iPad switches from Wi-Fi to cellular and then back, when Wi-Fi's connected again. In order to avoid that, you need a solution that can use both your Wi-Fi and cellular connections at the same time - a channel bonding service. You need Speedify.
However, I see where it could be helpful to be able to hide the side menu when I am annotating AND my iPad is in landscape view. This hasn't ever been a feature, but I bet a number of instructors would enjoy having it available. I think it would be worthwhile to share a new idea conversation!
