The aim of this project is to add all popular Bangla typing methods from Bangladesh and India in a single interface. Current release supports English to Bangla Phonetic typing support for home users, Mouse Based Bangla typing support for newbies and for professionals Traditional Keyboard Layout based Bangla typing support. Avro Keyboard works as a system level keyboard interface. You can type Bangla anywhere with all typing methods (English to Bangla phonetic typing, keyboard layout based typing, mouse based typing) supported by Avro Keyboard.
Avro Keyboard offers much flexible user interface for even novice computer users. It is much better than Windows Input Locale as there is no necessary to edit your system language from control panel. Users can use Avro Keyboard and any other keyboard in any language defined in control panel simultaneously. It is possible to use Hindi, US English, UK English, Japanese, French etc. any language as system language and Avro Keyboard to use Bangla/Bengali. When Avro Keyboard is "System Default" mode, users are able to use their system language, when in "Bangla Keyboard" mode, no matter which language is active in the system, only Bangla typing is possible.

You can use "Single Key Mode Switching" by using any one key from F1 to F12 to switch between Bangla keyboard mode and System Keyboard mode.There is also Ctrl+Spcae key combination option. Use what you like.

Bijoy Bayanno is another popular typing software that translates words written on QWERTY keyboards into Bangla font. Both Avro and Bijoy have graphical user interfaces that let you conveniently access the platform. While Avro Keyboard is available on Android, Apple iOS, Linux, Mac, and Windows operating systems, Bijoy Bayanno is only compatible with Mac and Windows PC systems.
The second icon in the top bar lets you open a dropdown menu to change the keyboard from the English language to Bangla. You can simply press the interactive button to automatically change the characters. The current language will be shown in the toolbar.
You can select a hotkey from F1 to F12 that will quickly let you switch between keyboards. Additionally, the CTRL and spacebar keys will let you change the mode. Avro Keyboard will track both the Bangla and default keyboard modes throughout all the applications on your PC for a seamless user experience.
The built-in dictionary lets you completely customize the autocorrect. You can add and edit words within the auto-correct directory. The keyboard layouts let you type easier and quicker with the automatic vowel formation feature. If you type a short version of a vowel, then the long-form will automatically appear.
Both Bangla and English characters are available in the same fonts. The chosen font will stay the same even when you switch between keyboards. You can type Bangla text in Adobe Photoshop, Facebook, Microsoft Office Word, Outlook Express, MSN Messenger, Notepad, etc.
You can install Avro Keyboard onto your PC or get the portable edition. If you have an Apple device, then you can use iAvro. Additionally, ibus-avro is available for Linux systems. The developers made an Avro Keyboard extension for the Google Chrome web browser.

Avro Keyboard (Bengali: অভ্র কবর্ড) is a free and open source graphical keyboard software developed by OmicronLab for the Microsoft Windows, Linux, MacOS, and several other software additionally adapted its phonetic layout for Android and iOS operating system. It is the first free Unicode and ANSI compliant Bengali keyboard interface for Windows that was published on 26 March 2003.
Avro Keyboard has support for fixed keyboard layout and phonetic layout named "Avro Phonetic" that allows typing Bengali through romanized transliteration. Avro Keyboard comes with many additional features; auto correction, spell checker, a font fixer tool to set default Bengali font, a keyboard layout editor, Unicode to ANSI converter, ANSI to Unicode converter and a set of Bengali Unicode and ANSI fonts. This software is provided in a Standard Installer edition and Portable edition for Windows.
A portable edition of the Avro keyboard for Windows has been released on 2 July 2007. It does not need any installation or access as administrator and suitable to carry in portable media (like USB drives). It has a built-in 'automatic virtual font installer'. The size of portable edition is smaller than the standard edition.[8]
Apart from providing traditional layouts, Avro developed a new layout which provides phonetic typing, that allows roman transliteration to Bengali. In spite some criticism for letting typing in foreign alphabets,[9] it acclaimed much popularity, specially among young generation. The layout is adopted by various other keyboard software including Ridmik keyboard[10] (Android and iOS), Borno keyboard (Android and Windows), OpenBangla Keyboard[11] (Linux) and others. It is also used by Universal Language Selector of Wiki projects for Bengali input. It was also used in Firefox OS for Bengali input, utilizing its JavaScript implementation, along with Probhat layout.[12]
There is a keyboard layout, named UniBijoy, which was supplied with Avro Keyboard 4.5.1. Jabbar filed an application of copyright violation to the office of copyright, Bangladesh on 25 April 2010, claiming that UniBijoy is a copy of Bijoy.[28][29]
A settlement was made between Dr. Khan and Jabbar in a formal meeting on 16 June 2010 in Bangladesh Computer Council office in Agargaon, Dhaka at presence of many IT experts. According to that, Dr. Khan removes the UniBijoy keyboard layout from Avro keyboard software and Jabbar withdraws the allegation of copyright violation from Bangladesh copyright office by 20 August 2010.[30] As a result, UniBijoy keyboard layout was removed from the Avro Keyboard version 4.5.2 which was released on 20 August 2010. Jabbar informed that the trial in copyright office is withheld and will be withdrawn.[31] He congratulated Dr. Khan and said, "I am respectful to his creativity and expecting the development of Avro software."[32]
Looking at your screenshot, you have English above Bangla as input source choices.
I am not sure if you can promote Bangla to first input source option usong the settings cog icon for input sources.
If you want Bangla keyboard input only, put it to top of list and/or delete English input option from that list.
