Adobe Font Folio was a collection of more than 2,400 OpenType fonts,[1] designed by several renowned type foundries. There are differences in the font licensing as well. The license for Font Folio is perpetual, and covers the fonts in that collection for print publishing. I recently accquired a copy of Adobe Font Folio 8 as part of a lot of old computer software (I collect the stuff, we all have to have hobbies, don't judge) and while the included PFM files work great for using the fonts with classic versions of Windows, I'd like the AFM files to use them on OS/2 and various DOS based programs. Those used to be available on the Adobe FTP site, but there seems to have been a wholesale removal of legacy product support recently? Can anybody help?

16 out of those 37 packages (400-436) are MM fonts. These never contained *.afm-files but *.mmm instead. So these are not missing. Most or all of the rest should be in the zip-archive you can download from my MEGA.nz account below.

Adobe Systems on Wednesday announced the release ofFont Folio 11, its type software library that works on Mac OS X and Windows. Based on OpenType, Font Folio 11 offers more than 2,300 fonts from the Adobe Type Library. It costs $8,999 for a 20-user license. Upgrades are available. A special five-computer license costs $2,599.

There are a few "important" fonts that you could buy just as a starter including big names like Futura, Helvetica, Myriad, Franklin Gothic, Garamond, Caslon, etc (some/many of these you may already have bundled with your graphic design software or OS).

There's no reason to purchase a typeface for a logo until that particular logo project comes around and a particular typeface fits the requirements. At that time, buy the font for that particular project. Over time, you will end up with a quality set of typefaces rather than 100 cheaply made ones.

While perhaps not true in every industry, in typeface design, 'bulk' usually means 'crap'. There are plenty of 1000 fonts for $99 CDs out there, but if that's all you can afford, then you're not charging enough for your logo design work to begin with.

I tried your example but did not find the issue you described. I am using the stock TeXLive 2016, updated just today. The fonts are the versions from Adobe Font Folio 11 (but I don't think the versions of the fonts are issues here). Though I do have the patch in applied to fontspec. I am not sure if that is the issue.
