ZFS with Alluxio

"Hello everyone,

I've been exploring the possibility of using ZFS as the Under File System (UnderFS) in Alluxio. However, I've encountered an error while trying to mount ZFS on Alluxio. I wanted to check if anyone has successfully mounted ZFS on Alluxio or if it's even possible.

I followed the steps to mount my ZFS file system to a local directory, and then I updated the alluxio-site.properties file to point to the ZFS mount point as the UnderFS address. However, when I start Alluxio, I'm getting an error.

Has anyone attempted to use ZFS as the UnderFS in Alluxio before? If so, could you please share any insights, recommendations, or potential solutions to this issue? Or is it not possible to use ZFS as the UnderFS in Alluxio?

Hi Sanket,

thanks for asking. I haven't tried ZFS as a UFS. what errors do you see? mind creating a github issue (https://github.com/Alluxio/alluxio/issues) to track?
