Alluxio 1.7.1 Release

Dear Alluxio Developers,

We are excited to announce Alluxio version 1.7.1, a maintenance release containing several important bug fixes. The release improves usability and resolves several issues.

Client

• Client recovery during intermittent Alluxio worker failures (https://alluxio.atlassian.net/browse/ALLUXIO-3098)
  
• Support white space in file names (https://alluxio.atlassian.net/browse/ALLUXIO-3118)
  
• WebUI displays info in a best effort manner in the event of partial server failures
  

Server

• Improved journal recovery for HDFS based journals during intermittent HDFS failures (https://alluxio.atlassian.net/browse/ALLUXIO-3115)
  
• UFS sync supports syncing directory permissions (https://alluxio.atlassian.net/browse/ALLUXIO-3123)
  
• Orphaned blocks are discovered and can be configured to be removed during startup or (experimental) during runtime.
  
• Improved async caching memory and thread management
  
• Improved space reserver behavior in various high pressure eviction situations
