Dear Alluxio developers,

I'm happy to announce the release of Alluxio 1.7.0. This release provides significant architecture and usability improvements. Here are some highlights:
  • Asynchronous caching
  • Kubernetes integration
  • Configurable locality tiering, including support for rack locality
  • Ability to reflect any UFS changes in Alluxio after a configurable period
  • Improved FUSE support. The FUSE integration has graduated from the experimental stage to being fully supported by the project.
In addition to the code improvements, we improved the content and look of the project website. There is now an overview dropdown containing information describing architecture, data flow, and the advantages of using Alluxio in your storage infrastructure.

For more details about the release, please see the release notes:

A huge thanks to the community for making this release possible, and special thanks to everyone who contributed and/or tested the release candidates!

Best,
Andrew
