Which is faster Native Java or Rest API

I am choosing from the two way. To transfer data to Alluxio. I want to know which is faster and why.

For the local mode, I think we can use both. 

For the cluster mode, can the native java work?

Alluxio native Java API and Rest API will work for both local and cluster settings.

In terms of optimizing for performance, Java API should be preferred. The reason is that the Rest API is a wrapper on top of native Java API.
