ஒரு சிறிய   விண்ணப்பம்

இன்று பிரபலமடைந்து இருக்கும் நடிகை/நடிகர்கள், பின்னணி பாடகர்கள் ஒரு காலத்தில் துணை பத்திரங்களில் நடித்து இருக்கலாம். ஒரே ஒரு   காட்சியில்   நடித்தும் இருக்கலாம்.அப்போது  அவர்கள்  நமக்கு    'தெரியாத முகங்களாக'  இருந்து  இருப்பார்கள்,  

பழைய படங்களில் அந்த தெரியாத முகங்களை.நம்மில்  பலர்

தெரிந்து வைத்து இருப்பார்கள்.   அந்த இனிய நினைவுகளை  நம்மோடு பகிர்ந்து கொள்ளுங்களேன் ப்ளிஸ்.

நடித்து இருக்கிறார்கலமே..எந்த எந்த  படங்கள்?    

 

SC கிருஷ்ணன் கூட கூண்டுகிளி என்ற படத்தில் ஒரு காட்சியில் 

நடித்து   இருப்பதாக  படித்தேன்.

 

AL  ராகவன் குழந்தை நட்சத்திரமாகவும்  நடித்து இருக்கிறாராம்

இது போல தெரியாத குட்டிகுட்டி தகவல்கள் சுவாரஷியமாகத்தான்

Hi: Here is some news on your request! 1)  TMS acted in Pattinathar, Kallum Kaniyaghum.  I think he produced both these movies. 2)  Director P Madhavan acted as Doctor in Nenjil Oar Aalayam! 3)  Storywriter Gopu and Director C V Rajendran used to show their heads in most      of the movies of Director Sridhar! 4)  CHO started his film career in a mechanic role,  boasting himself  as "Mechanical      Madasamy FF(?) Kavitha: Today I was watching the song 'naan aanai ittal' from the movie 'enga veettu pillai' and spotted Suruli Rajan, who became a popular comedian later, in the bit role of one of the servants. Similarly, the famous Hindi actress Waheeda Rehman has been a group dancer in movies like Kaalam Maari Poechu(earu pooti povaye anne chinnanne), Kulebagavali (naama aduradhum paaduradhum kasukku); I think the actress who later became CID Sakunth was also a group dancer. I am sure there are many more such instances which, other members of the group will reveal soon. Only M.S.Viswanathan appeared in the song Avalukkenna Azhahiya Muham, if I am correct.

Kannadasan acted in his own film Karuppup Panam as anti hero.

There was a sivaji film titled ASAI ALAIGAL,a tamil version of a telungu movie,where some one  dubbed his voice  for sivaji throughout the whole movie

 

S.P.Balasubramaniam  has dubbed his voice for Kamalhasan in some tamil versions of telugu  movies

T.A.MATHURAM acted in double roles in a old black & white movie

where she was paired with MGR in one role and the other with NSK

 

Gemini Ganesan has acted with SSR in one movie only

 

SSR has never acted with Savithiri

Though both were in the KAIKODUTHA DEIVAM ,there was no other scenes of them together in the movie  except in the last scene of  the film

In Avalukkennna Azhagiya Mugam song, you can see MSV conducting the orchesra but unlike MSV , T K Ramamoorthy is a always silent profile but will be in the first row playing the violin (his favourite instrument!) with joy.  You try this also once again please! He  will also be wearing a coat and with spectacles.  Of course, that was the only movie in which TKR showed up his face !  MSV continues to act whenever he is offered a role!  One more thing which our group members may not know is that T K Ramamoorthy's son (now an ENT specialist) T K Kanagaraj,  is my schoolmate in Gopalapuram Boys High School, Gopalapuram, Chennai and my memories go back to their house in North Gopalapuram where I used to admire the entire first floor flooded with sheilds and trophies the due got during their hey times!  For me, Gopalapuram is my birthplace and I have lot of memorable incidents with many popular artists of the south indian cinema, as most of them lived in and around Gopalapuram, including the present CM of Tamilnadu, who continues to live there!    As for Kannadhasan, he acted and produced Karuppu Panam, with excellent songs by Viswanathan-Ramamoorthy, which are popular even today.   Kannadhasan also acted (?) in Apoorva Raagangal in which he will be treated by Dr Nagesh! veegopalji --- On Sat, 7/11/09, MVG <mvg...@yahoo.co.in> wrote:

Hi: Ravichandran acted in double role in Panakkara Pillai (1970) - one with Jayalalitha and one with Rajshri(?).  The famous songs "Maanikka Magudam Chooti Kondaal Maharani" and "Pattam Vittathu Pole Parakkuthamma Un Meladai" songs are featured in this movie! Music by SMS. I think Ravichandran also did a double role in "Naalum Therindhavan (1968)".  S A Kannan, actor/director, is one of the friends of Sivaji Ganesan.  He will play an important role in almost all the Sivaji films.  He is a friend of Sivaji Ganesan right from the early stage drama groups.   You can see him always with Sivaji in his movies mostly doing the servant's role.  One example, in Aalayamani, Sivaji Ganesan will swing his tennis racket and walk and SAK will exclaim to his colleague "Dey, Ejaman nadaiyai  paaradaa....and Sivaji will dismiss him with a smile.  Sivaji will tell the same dialogue from his wheelchair to SAK with a different expression to him (after his fall from   the Killer Rock (Marana Paarai).  What a fantastic movie !  I think, unfortunately,  SAK was all along associated with Sivaji without any breakthrough!  No idea about his present position. S V Venkatraman, a popular music director of the fifties was originally a hero in some old movies (names I dont remember)  but during a shooting he lost his left hand!  By virtue of his musical talent he gave music for many memorable films like Meera and other movies. In a way, he was the guru of M S Subbulakshmi in shaping her in classical/film music!  I know this because he also lived in Gopalapuram and happens to be one of my great grand uncles! Kothamangalm Subbu, who was a famous writer, lyric writer, wrote the famous "Thillana Mohanambal" as a weekly serial in Ananda Vikatan.  Later, the story was made into a movie by A P Nagarajan, with Sivaji and Padmini in the lead.  It was a super hit film of the 60s and remembered even today.  He lived in Lloyds Road, Royapettah, Chennai.  He was instrumental in the success of the movies produced by Gemini Studios where he was the right hand of S S Vasan.   He also acted in Paava Mannippu, a Sivaji film, as a friend of V Nagiah, the Jamat leader who adopts the child  Sivaji.  He used to train the child Sivaji in preparing medicines in the film.   Gemini Ganesan started his career as a Production Manager in Gemini Studios and later became "Kaadhal Mannan" both in reel life and real life!   veegopalji

Hi: Some more news: 1)  Kutty Padmini - who acted in double role in Kuzhanthaiyum Deivamum"  though     popular and acted very well, in most of the Tamil hit movies could not succeed as a             heroine. 2)  Kutty Padmini's mother (don't remember the name) was a regular employee of       AVM Productions and acted in most of their films.  You may remember her       as the landlady in "Athey Kangal" where Ravichandran and Nagesh (in young       woman's makeup!) will seek house for rent!  This lady also acted in "Gentleman"      as an employee of Arjun - i.e. the "Kiccha mami"  She used to ask Arjun to       for body massage which is a superhit comedy scene!  3)  Kambar Jayaraman, a popular Doordharsan artist and great actor who used to take              father's role etc. acted as a young neighbour in the film "Kuzhanthaiyum Deivamum      in the song sequence Kozhi Oru Kootile... The song goes like "Adutha veettu paapa       ippo appa amma madiyile....  He got his name Kambar due to a play (Doordharsan?)      wherein he acted as Kambar.  An excellent actor who could not get recognition      in spite of his acting skill. 4)  Rajasekar, yet another another stage artist, who originally acted as the hero of "Rishi          Moolam"    a drama staged by Director Mahendran.  He is equally an excellent actor            who was working in United India Insurance Co.  Rishi Moolam subsequently came as a       movie in which Sivaji Ganesan was the hero!  Ithu eppadi irukku!  Even today he      is acting in Father roles in many movies - for e.g. Dhool film - Vikram's father!.          5) During the 60s, there used to be Drama Festival in Accountant General's Office,                 Teynampet, Chennai,        every year for Central Govt. Dept employees.  All the Depts.       will stage plays and prizes        awarded for the best dramas.  Director K Balachander,       was working in AG's office those      days.  He staged an English play called "Major             Chandrakanth" in which the Major role was performed by his colleague S                             Varadachari. Besides good acting,  Varadachari  he        had a beautiful  English accent     and his performance was equivalent to that of Sivaji Ganesan!.  Naturally, this                     drama won first prize.  R Sundarrajan (later he became  Major Sundarrajan for  taking the     role of Major when the drama became a film!).  Sundarrajan was an employee of Madras     Telephones and he used to act for his Dept. plays.  The ladyluck smiled on him and the       Major role came to him when the drama became cinema when AVM productions decided     to make a film.  Though the screenplay and dialogues were written by KB, the  film was       directed by Krishnan-Panju and music was composed by MSV.  Major Chandrakant,     the original English drama became a cinema like this and produced an excellent      actor and director to the film industry.       The success of Major Chandrakanth encouraged KB to produce several dramas and he       made it a point to appear in a scene in every drama he staged!  In Major Chandrakant         drama, he appeared as a paper boy!  Thereafter, he started acting in many TV serials     he produced in the later years.     KB was instrumental in bringing to limelight Kamal, Rajni, Sumitra, Jayachitra, Srividya,      Saritha, and many other artists. 6)  Kamal, in his youth, struggled for a breakthrough in tamil films.  He started his career      as an assistant to dance master Thangappan, who produced some movies including      Annai Velankanni.   Only after the midas touch of KB, Kamal started gaining ground            in the film industry.  Of course, now, nobody can touch him - he has gone beyond       everybody's imagination! OF JYOTHIKA IN A MOVIE BUT DONT REMEBER THE NAME.

Second pair for Ravichandran in Panakara Pillai was not Rajshri but Jothilakshmi.

 

TMS has acted as hero in Arunakirinathar as well. Who can forget his rendition of Muthai Thiru. He had special training from Thiru Muruga Kirupanantha Variyar to split the words and understand the meaning.

 

TMS was also the first selection to act for the song Oru Koppaiyile En Kudi Iruppu. But on the date of shooting Kannadasan snatched that role. TMS recently mentioned this in Thuglak magazine interview.
