697 Cambridge Street

Small Project Review Application (SPRA)

Comment End Date, Friday, November 28, 2025

Linked below for your review is an electronic copy of the Small Project Review Application (SPRA) for the proposed 697 Cambridge Street project located in Brighton which was received on Thursday, October 23, 2025.

The filing kicks off the public review process for the proposed project. Notice of upcoming public meetings will be posted on the project website and sent out as soon as possible.

The following project description has been provided by the development team:

The proposed development at 697 Cambridge Street has been designed to transform an existing two- story commercial structure into a five-story multifamily residential building while maintaining compatibility with its urban context. The program organizes residential, parking, and support spaces to create a functional and efficient structure that responds to the character of the section of Cambridge Street on which the site sits. The building will contain 42 residential units organized across the lower level through the fifth floor. The unit mix is designed to support a diversity of household types, including 17 studios, 15 one-bedroom units, 7 two-bedroom units, and 3 three-bedroom units. Many units will benefit from exclusive-use balconies, offering residents private outdoor space. Interior layouts have been planned to maximize natural light, efficiency, and livability.

The public is encouraged to submit comments about the proposed project. The current comment period will be open through Friday, November 28, 2025 , and can be extended if necessary. After the conclusion of the comment period, staff of the Planning Department will review feedback and determine next steps. Proposed projects often go through multiple rounds of review. Once this process concludes, staff of the Planning Department will make a recommendation to the BPDA Board, which will consider the project at a monthly Board meeting. For any questions or concerns related to the comment period, please reach out to the Project Manager below.
