Hi,

I don't want to alarm anyone, but it is possible someone is stealing credit card numbers and selling them out of Brighton Center.

My debit card was compromised last week by someone who had created a fake card and was using it in Kansas to try to make purchases. Just this past weekend, my girlfriend's card was compromised by someone making large purchases in Pakistan. We belong to two different banks, but often use our cards for purchases at the same places in and around Brighton Center.

After speaking with the banks and a detective at D14, it's clear they can't do anything to stop this without better knowledge of where previous purchases were made. They also told me someone else called earlier about a fraud charge made from Chile.

I know it's around the holiday's and we are all running around supporting our local businesses as best we can (don't stop!). Just make sure you watch your online account and look for any unusual activity. If you see anything odd, call your bank and the detectives at D14 (617-343-4256) immediately.

Have a fun, safe holiday and Happy Thanksgiving.

Nathan,
So sorry to hear about this unhappy circumstance. Thank you for letting us all know, we should always try to be aware of what is going on around us.  Maybe we should all try to use cash as inconvenient as that is.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks for sharing, especially around this time of year; I use my debit card for just about everything.

Happy Holidays

Patricia
