Wishing You a Happy Thanksgiving!
We have a lot to be thankful for.
Thanksgiving provides us all with an opportunity to reflect on the past year and think about what we are thankful for. This continues to be a challenging time to work in health care but in the face of adversity, we’re thankful that so many of our staff continue to be dedicated to our mission, to the communities we care for and for their amazing and inspiring work throughout the year.

We’re thankful that our patients continue to trust us with their care and that we are able to respond to their needs, regardless of their ability to pay. We’re thankful for the many local foundations and government agencies that help support our work so we can care for our patients and we’re thankful for our elected officials that advocate for us and the communities of Allston-Brighton and Waltham. And we’re thankful for our neighborhood business partners that understand the importance of high-quality, community-based care.

Indeed, we have much to be thankful for this year. We hope you have a chance during this holiday to reflect on what you are thankful for in your world and how working together, we can continue to make our world a little better each day.
CRCH Receives Grant to Help Patients with Chronic Conditions
Charles River Community Health was recently awarded a grant of $23,998 from The Rabbi Abraham Halbfinger and Charlesview Charitable Fund. The grant will be used to support patients living with chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and chronic pain. CRCH will offer the Stanford Chronic Disease Self-Management Program (CDSMP), a six-week program that assists with problem-solving, decision making and education related to managing chronic conditions. Additionally, CRCH will offer group medical visits to continue supporting and educating patients. The Rabbi Abraham Halbfinger and Charlesview Charitable Fund aims to help the Allston-Brighton community’s efforts to be a thriving neighborhood where opportunities abound, and ALL residents can reach their potential.
Epic Launches on December 1!
On December 1, 2022, Charles River Community Health will join 12 Federally Qualified Health Centers in Massachusetts in coordination with the Community Technology Cooperative (CTC) to transition our electronic health record system to Epic. Epic is a patient-centered platform that features a single, fully-integrated system which will help us better manage patient care will provide our patients with improved care and access to a new, online patient portal (see below).

The move to Epic will help CRCH improve patient care, improve care coordination, enhance the care team experience, and operate more efficiently.  While we expect this to be a smooth transition, we would like patients to understand that your first visit after we make this change may take a little longer as our staff are adjusting to the new system. We appreciate your patience and look forward to serving you better with Epic!

Remember CRCH on Giving Tuesday
Giving Tuesday is Tuesday, November 29

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

On Tuesday, November 29, Charles River Community Health will send out a special email asking for your support of our work. A gift in any amount will help provide care to underserved communities in the Allston-Brigton and Waltham neighborhoods and will help us fulfill our mission.

Why wait till Tuesday? You can click on the button below and make a gift to CRCH!

Thanks in advance for your support!
Masks are Still Required for in-person Visits!
A reminder that masks are required inside both our Boston and Waltham health centers, even if you are fully vaccinated! This aligns with state guidelines for healthcare facilities. If you don't have a mask when you arrive for your appointment, we'll provide one for you. Thank you for helping to keep our patients and staff safe!
