The City’s Partners with Nonprofits (PNP) program, awarded 17 human service nonprofit organizations from around Boston a total of $567,344 in grant funding for public facility upgrades and on-site physical improvements. This year’s awards will fund capital improvements for social service organizations, providers to homeless individuals and families, youth and recreation centers, the YMCA, several Boys and Girls Clubs neighborhood branches, and other nonprofit organizations. This funding comes at a critical time for organizations providing services to unhoused residents, and will bolster their ability to care for an array of residents as the City recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since 1995, the Partners with Nonprofits program, operated by the Mayor’s Office of Housing, has awarded more than $11.8 million in grants to neighborhood nonprofit organizations. The program provides funding up to $40,000 for capital improvements, such as handicap accessibility upgrades, building repairs, or other infrastructure renovations, to neighborhood-based nonprofit organizations through a competitive Request for Proposals process. Grants are made possible by the City’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
The following Allston Brighton nonprofit groups were awarded Partners with Nonprofits grants in this round:
- Presentation School Foundation
- West End House

75 Tremont St Impact Advisory Group Meeting
Boston Planning & Development Agency
Tuesday, June 28, 2022, 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm
The BPDA is hosting a public meeting for the proposed project at 75 Tremont Street, a project located in the Brighton neighborhood of Boston. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the overall project, the potential impacts and mitigation for the project. The meeting will include a presentation followed by questions and comments from the public.
Please note that the purpose of this meeting is different from that of a traditional community meeting. As part of the development review process, Impact Advisory Group (IAG) members work closely with BPDA staff to identify the impacts of a project and recommend appropriate community benefits to offset those impacts. IAG meetings prioritize discussion between the project proponent (i.e. the developer) and IAG members.
The proposed project would include approximately 70 homeownership units in a building of approximately 74,853 gross square feet, with 61 garage and 13 surface parking spaces, widened sidewalks, open space, and related amenities.

West Station Area Transit Study
Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC)
Wednesday, June 29, 2022, 5:00 pm – 6:15 pm
The study will evaluate various transportation improvements and land use policies to determine which options might maximize the number of walking, bicycling, and transit trips under possible development scenarios around West Station. Key transportation routes connecting West Station to and from major population and employment nodes in Boston, Cambridge, and Brookline will be studied as well.
The study will provide municipal and state governments, as well as the development community, with an objective evaluation of the strategies that could best improve access to jobs, labor, housing, healthcare, and other major destinations under different potential development futures both around West Station and the surrounding community. The results of this study will help municipal and state governments to proactively plan for and implement regional mobility improvements as the realigned Allston I-90 interchange area is developed. Finally, a direct outcome of this study will be transit services concepts that the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) can use to inform the design of the new West Station.
MAPC will provide a summary of the report and work undertaken the last 2+ years. Register here.
